Book Description
One of the most simple, inexpensive, and rewarding materials to work with, an afternoons crafting with paper can create an enduring work of art. And what better way to capture forever messages of love to family and friends at important moments in life than with a truly personal, hand-made, beautifully stylish card? Packed with inspiring and unusual designs, Fast Fun Cards shows you how to create cards for every occasion. Each of the projects also includes a variation to suit different recipients, while expert advice is given on how to choose the most appealing colour combinations and materials, with tips on using modern and exotic papers such as origami papers and how to make the most of tea-bag papers and techniques.
Encompassing many traditional techniques such as quilling, cross stitch, embossing, simple embroidery and paper cutting, the many ideas can be used to fashion cards for any number of events, holidays, and parties. From simple ideas like tying a small bag filled with confetti onto a backing card to slightly more skilled and time-consuming designs such as paper folding and Victorian-style quilling, this book is suitable for a range of abilities and some projects could be made by children too, with some cards only requiring an hour or so of time to make. Themed by occasion, from birthdays to weddings and new babies, each card design has one or more variations, and some include a gift tag and wrapping idea, too. Many cards boast matching or co-ordinating envelopes to make, and a section on glamorous gift-wrapping, includes delightfully different ideas for ways of packaging the cards, the methods of which are all illustrated and explained in the final section of the book.
