Fast Food for Friends is divided into various sections: brunches and lunches, casual meals, finger and fork food, dinner parties, special occasions, and a treasury of basic recipes to impress without effort. Each section has further sub-divisions, such as vegetarian suppers, food for unexpected guests, or anniversary dinners. For all the recipes, the authors suggest using quality ingredients for the best results. But to cook fast you also need some convenience foods: pre-washed and cut vegetables, pre-packed and pre-selected salad leaves, and trimmed herbs. They also include tips on what to have in constant supply in the larder, growing in a pot on the windowsill, in the refrigerator, in the freezer and in the store-cupboard. This enables you to produce delicious meals as quickly and painlessly as possible.
