It's amazing the things you can discover when you just take a chance on an album, drawn to this album owing to it's cutsey thing i knew i was onto a winner when i saw they'd thanked Bearsuit in their credits...

Help She Can't Swim sound like Sonic Youth assaulting an indie band but in the best possible way. Shouty boy girl vocals and an agressive attitude to their music and witty sharp observational lyrics that all 'scene' kids can relate to. Quick, get your hands on this album before hype does...

I love this band so much, the singing sounds potentially quite annoying but they're very, very good so it didn't bother me at all.

They seem to hate a lot of things... "No one cares about your DJ night/Shut it" - Fermez La Bouche "God bless the music press/I can't believe you're not bored of it yet." - Are You Feeling Fashionab and the rhyming celebrity name yelling at the end of Bunty vs Beano is classic. "Michael Winnner/Frank Skinner... Ashton Kutcher/Frank Butcher".

An all round fantastic indie-pop album. Great artwork as well.

Great album (discovered browsing the listening posts in a Tokyo HMV - and yet no such promotion over here in England) that's mining the current Eighties-inspired spiky guitars-with-synths crossover (thank you Smiths/Cure/Gang of Four/Joy Division) but with more edge, wit and energy than Franz Ferdinand, Killers et al. The music's faster and louder and the band make really good use of their male/female dual vocalists which gives the album an interesting variety as you run through the songs. Best thing of all though are the lyrics - pretty damn excellent and very funny: how about a chorus that runs 'You dance like your dad at a disco, What would Morrissey say?'. I don't understand why this band aren't being hyped to the stars. Buy this album now then tell your mates about it.
