Format: Paperback
I've purchased this book some weeks ago, because I was looking for some advice and information about the fashion photography industry.

I already had tons of books on lighting, digital photography, etc... so actually I didn't want another book talking about the classic topics like camera types, exposure, metering, composition, blablabla... and I gotta say that I'm very satisfied with the purchase, as the book is divided in various chapters, including preproduction, production and postproduction of the images. So it's really about the process and the fashion industry. It talks a lot about interacting with the clients, stylists, models, building your portfolio, getting started with TFCD sets and free models/stylists, etc... and even when it has a lot of info on lighting sets or other technical advice, I think the main theme is the fashion photography and how to start in this amazing world.

So i'm truly satisfied.

So very very disapointed to find out that this book is exactly the same book as Pro Digital Fashion Photography. But if you do not own the other book, then it is a very good bookPro Digital Fashion Photography: A Complete Reference Guide to the Tools and Techniques of Successful Digital Fashion Photography

I read the great reviews of this book and bought it as I'm starting out in the fashion business.
It looks like any Amherst photography guide - loads of pictures, not a lot of words. Unfortunately I found that it reads really badly. I've read Smith's recollections of his work on the web and found them really engaging. This book is written in an impersonal style, with so little detail and broken up into such tiny chapters that I'm finding it quite tedious and hard to engage with. I'm bored of this approach to photography books: give me something that reads like a book instead of endless dated photos interspersed with dogma.
