Product Description

Product Description

The First Fashion Photography Tutorial on the iPhone has now expanded to include 3 main sections in this eBook version: Planning The Shoot - On The Shoot - The Business

Photographer Diego Indraccolo ( ) puts all his practical, technical and creative tips into this tutorial so that you can start building a professional and creative experience immediately.

This how-to guide is aimed at both beginners and advanced amateur photographers who are familiar with the basic concepts of photography (lighting and exposure), but want to learn how to create a high-end look for a fashion portfolio.

Diego's no-nonsense approach is an alternative solution and a real help to get started on understanding how to shoot fashion on a zero budget, clarifying and exposing all the myths surrounding fashion photography, as well as encouraging you to develop your own style.

This tutorial will save you a year of your time by providing you with a fast track to the world of professional photography.

Most importantly, this is not a tutorial where a dozen lighting or Photoshop techniques are used as a gimmick to entertain readers with over-technical but ultimately pointless references. This is aimed to give you a real insight on how the fashion industry works and what you need to do to become a part of it.

Topics covered in this 23 chapter tutorial include:

* Testing

* How to find a team

* What makes a fashion story

* Lighting

* Photoshop

* What to put in your portfolio

* Directing the model

* Getting published

* Getting paid

* ... And much more

The book had some interesting points but not a great amount of depth. Leaves me asking a lot of questions. Now looking for those answers.

5.0 out of 5 stars small but beautifully formed.... 22 Sep 2012

At last, something which does not waste time with the routine rounds of basic techniques that are best learnt elsewhere but a focused, fact packed mine of information and relevant opinion. Here is the mother lode of working in the fashion genre that tells it like it is, the heartache of rejection after rejection and the exhilaration of getting it right.

This booklet ( it is too small to be called a book in my opinion ) cuts through the claptrap to take you back to the basic realities of fashion work. It is all about the clothes. It HAS to be a team effort. Who you know can pay off better than what you can do. Simple common sense stuff which is then presented in a way which suggests ways of overcoming the problems and addressing the challenges. This shows how a photographer with talent, determination and people skills can produce a better standard of work with the simplest of equipment. KISS ( Keep It Simple Stupid ) could have been the title, as that seems to underline the author's philosophy.

I can honestly say that I learnt a hell of a lot from this booklet which has energised me and inspired me to do more and do it better. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Concise and Useful 4 Oct 2011
I picked up some helpful hints and tips from this book, and it is well-pitched at the serious amateur or aspiring professional photographer. The author has a lot of useful information to impart, but I do wish it was slightly longer - it took me no more than 20 minutes to read from start to finish.
