This book provides in-depth information and food for thought on a variety of issues concerning fashion from various perspectives. Discussions are thoroughly contextualised, with historical backgrounds provided, useful details introduced and highly pertinent photographs. Students will find much of use here. I particularly valued its comprehensive, non Western-centred approach, with insightful case studies that range from China and India to the preference for black in the UK. Really well researched. One of the best books on fashion I've got this year.
