I didn't expect much from these, but was encouraged by the positive reviews so thought they were worth a try- for 80p it's worth the risk even if they end up in the bin. I've bought cheap earrings of Amazon before and have been pleasantly surprised in the past.
Having received them, I can see why they are so cheap. The hooks of the earrings may be silver- they are very thin and have "925" stamped on them but I'm not convinced. It can't be difficult to stamp a random number into thin metal, and even if there's a law against it (although I doubt it) it'd still be worth it for a manufacturer.
The pendant part of the earring is definitely not silver, I don't think they're even metal, just cheap plastic which, in my case, broke the second I took them out of the packet. Much thicker and heavier than I expected, not delicate or elegant at all in my opinion. Just a bit naff and tacky looking.
The title of the earrings also said they come in a velvet pouch- I didn't receive one. Not that I'd have done anything with it anyway- probably just kept it in a drawer for a few months before finding it on a clear out day, wondering where it came from and throwing it away. But still, why say it if you're not going to send one? I doubt the velvet pouch was the DECIDING FACTOR for anyone who bought them.
Each to their own, some people seem to like them but not for me. Oh well, 80p in the bin but then what else can you get for that cost these days? A lettuce?
