This is a worth while purchase if you are studying fashion. It defines and describes (with poorly illustrated examples) all different types of fashion garments and materials. I was hoping to see some other fashion-related terminology in there, which is its only downfall however its definately worth buying!

Bought this book after flicking through it in the V&A shop. Its been useful with basic level school work right through to a fashion based degree.
Highly recommend it for anyone studying fashion who is looking for easy to understand definitions on a wide range of terms.

I really wanted to find an illustrated book, meaning all definitions accompanied with an illustration.
This was not the case, there were some illustrations here and there, and definitely not enough for my purpose.
The rest was very satisfactory.

the first day of my fashion course I asked my teacher for a book about fashion words i could learn and she recommended this book. It a dictionary. I found it good but not useful at all. It's ok for non-fashion students or beginner. But once you study a semester this book doesn't help. The price doesn't match the book, it should be cheaper. There are lot of better books about fashion knowledge.

fashion a to z is a very good fashion dictionary if you are (like me) just a general look-it-up dictionary user. (If you are actually in the fashion business, you may want more comprehensive reference material.)
