1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy !!! 29 Dec 2009
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I read reviews of this game on other game sites and they were all favourable, so I decided to spend some of my rather modest Christmas budget on this game for my 9 year old daughter. I had considered the more expensive Style Boutique, but decided against it as the reviews for it were not as good as those for Fashion Designer.

So I'm kicking myself now. My daughter HATES this game and I can't say I blame her. She wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up, so you would think that a game with this title would be ideal. There is VERY little actual designing, you are allowed to choose from a limited amount of designs and colours, including any that you are able to unlock throughout the gameplay. There is no facility for the player to really DESIGN any clothing and the designs that are provided are dull and unimaginative.

The majority of the game is spent "making" the dull outfit you have been forced to design. The further up the mission scale you get the more time you spend "making" the outfit, to the point that one single outfit can take 15 minutes to complete. The "making" is basically tracing around endless parts of the outfit with the ds pen, that's it,honestly, nothing else, just endless tracing around outlines with the occasional bit of "ironing" thrown in to break the monotony. The designers of the game have also included some highly irritating little insects to destroy the outfit you could have just spent 10 or more minutes on, if you don't succeed in brushing them away. Some reward for all your hard work!

All in all a truly awful game. If you have a child with OCD who loves just tracing outlines all day then this is definitely the game to buy them. If, however, your child wants to design clothes and accessories, don't give this game a second glance.

4.0 out of 5 stars My ten year old loves it 16 May 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my daughter when she was ten. She is madly keen on becoming a fashion designer when she grows up. She played this game 24/7 from the moment she got it until she had done every possible design/mission. She was completely addicted. She said the only down side is that you have to do the design it tells you to so you only get to pick colours and the outline for what you've been told to do. My daughter also said that it's easy because you only have to trace the outline that it shows you to apart from the ironing. She loves free mode an picking your character and models for the design you made.
If you have a daughter that likes a bit of challenge like mine then this is the game for you because on about mission 4/5/6 you also have some moths and woodlouse try to steal fabric too!

So all in all this is a pretty good game for girls that like some challenge.
