Product Description

A whole new adventure based on the hit television series.

Book Description

John Crichton, Earth astronaut lost in a universe he never new existed, would have answered the call for altruistic reasons alone. However, his desperate alien shipmate fugitives on the living ship called Moya had other plans. Survival! Then Rygel XVI, the deposed ruler now on the throne of his own mind, recognized the ship's markings. This race knew the starways like the back of its ventral tentacle! However, inside the alien ship the crew found instead a mystery wrapped inside an enigma and shunted into a ghost-universe. Would Crichton the wandering Earthman, Rygel the power-mad schemer, Ka D'Argo the haunted warrior, Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan the exotic blue priest, and Aeryn Sun the ex-Peacekeeper at war with herself find the key that would take them home? Or would the ship of dreams and ghosts add their troubled souls to its grisly collection in an galaxy beyond Death itself?

Written by someone who doesn't understand the subject matter, characters don't behave or speak like they should. This is an admirable attempt at stealing Farscape fan's hard-earned cash and it worked with me. I found it very frustrating to read. Not witty, dark or fun enough to be an epic Farscape tale. Buy "House of Cards" instead.

The characters within the novel remain true to the show and captivate easily, however the plot seems to become unnesscerily complicated at times. If you're a Farscape fanatic as I am, persevere as the book develops you'll be rewarded for your patience. While the previous two novels, 'House of Cards' and 'Dark side of the Sun' are admirable in their attempts to recreate the show's atmosphere and energy ,for me 'Ship of Ghosts' comes the closest, let down only by lack of plot clarity.I would highly reccomend this novel to those who watch the show and especially those who enjoy the interaction between characters, as the author develops this well while remaining loyal to the creators original vision.Yet novels based on the series are still in their infancy and many authors will be eager to asses the reception of these first three before taking the leap themselves.I anticipate lots of ground breaking novels pushing the bounderies of the Farscape world in order to produce furtherinsights and new perspectives. Possibly even to rival Star Trek's (Voyager rules!) monopoly in the scifi genre, heres hoping that this will spur authors worldwide into action.

Best farscape book 18 Aug 2010

Starts off great but at about 2/3 of the way in and it becomes hard to follow. Also the little peacekeeper hunting crew story feels rushed and incomplete.
