Product Description

Book Description

The atmosphere is electric out in the farmyard. Old Farmer Clegg may be tucked up for the night, but there’s a talent show about to take place and all the animals are desperate to win. Will a break-dancing horse take the top spot? Will the pop-singing sheep twins be offered a record contract? Competition is fierce, but nobody’s counted on a certain farmer with a sleepwalking habit! With laugh-out-loud text and lively, comedic illustrations - not to mention a pig mariachi band - this fun-packed book will delight both boys and girls alike. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Peter Bently lives in the writer-filled town of Totnes with his wife and a ready-made audience of two young children. A prolific picture-book author, he enjoys visiting schools and sharing his writing. Peter has previously published two books with Macmillan: the terrifically toothy THE SHARK IN THE DARK (978 0 230 70735 1) with illustrator Ben Cort, and the irresistible CATS AHOY! (978 0 330 51880 2) with Jim Field. Jim Field is a lead-driven, pencil-pushing, 25-frames-per-second, Led Zeppelin fan. He is also a hugely talented illustrator and animation director whose previous clients have included Waterstones, Sainsbury's, Oxfam, The Independent, The Guardian, The FT, Channel 4, Virgin Mobile and Nokia. FARMER CLEGG'S NIGHT OUT is his second picture book and Jim has once again employed his vibrant, energetic style and witty detail to brilliant effect.

This Author was recommended and so we bought this as a present, but having read it we are reluctant to give it away.
Suitable for anyone who is a fan of the Julia Donaldson books.
My daughter (6 years) loves reading this book to anyone who will listen.
The rhyming is fantastic. The pictures fabulous.
No matter the age of the reader it will make you smile ( laugh out loud in some cases!!).
We highly recommend this book!
(We may have to buy a second book to give as the present because we can't part with the first!)

My two boys aged 2 and 3 love this book. It's well written, clever, witty and exactly the right length for a bedtime story. The illustrations are fab and colourful and just as amusing as the storyline. We liked it so much we bought another copy for a friends 4th birthday and he likes it too. Can't say fairer than three little critics all giving it the big thumbs up:-)

My son loves Cats Ahoy (so do I) so we bought this book as well. It's very similar in that it rhymes and it's funny but doesn't beat Cats Ahoy.
