Since Farcry instincts on the xbox when it was less known, it has evolved into something bigger and better each time whilst also learning from past mistakes.

4 years ago we had Farcry 2, a brilliant and realistic game, that with it's brilliance was marred by frustrations and chore like gameplay coupled with a nonsensical storyline or dilemmas with no consequence.

Now we have a somewhat anticipated Farcry 3 to top the year off, you may have read some reviews already giving it 10/10 and saying it's the best shooter ever made. They aren't far off.

FC2 was a chore to play, vehicles were slow and would need repairing every few yards, enemies could withstand a full clip before dying, enemies would somehow drive round a corner and attack you, enemy checkpoints would always respawn. The controls were a little sluggish and death meant suffering all of this again to travel to an objective again!

Thankfully Ubisoft was made aware of these problems, now the controls are more fluid and sharp. The vehicles are faster and scarcely break down. You don't have to worry about malaria. Enemies die if you shoot 1 bullet in the head. They don't magically spawn round corners from you or at checkpoints. Overall the game is a lot more fun to play.

First being the Insane edition, the content. You get a funny little Vass bobblehead, a cool survival pouch, an interesting survival guide that looks hand written (not just some strategy guide full of item locations in the game etc) and some nice DLC content.

There is now an intuitive cover and fire mechanic, where if near a wall your character realistically holds his gun upwards so it doesn't go through the wall like a ghost gun.

I am really loving this game, great graphics and storyline! You are Jason a guy who was partying with his pals on holiday, and they get kidnapped by pirates lead by Vaas (The insane guy) as you probably already know. Your task is to save your friends using the great amount of weapons available. Far Cry is huge, I doubt you will even want to play the main missions with all these other things going on around you such as side quests, pirate outposts, wild animal encounters (Leapords, Boar, Goats, etc.) Compared to Far Cry 2 this is 10x better, the story is much more solid although they are both pretty similar. There is lots of equipment to choose from - snipers, tag camera, molotovs, C4, combat knives, crossbows! So much fun. When you are using the equipment you may use it stealthily or guns blazing, you can sit on a cliff sniping or get on a zip line and hip fire your AK47. You get XP for killing people/capturing outposts, you can use the points on new skills such as an extra health bar or new ways to kill enemy's. You can craft things too using flowers and skins you have picked, these things are extra equipment slots. The multiplayer is nothing special, just another call of duty type game but there is a coop game too which isn't too fun. The Insane Edition is very good, you get 2 DLC's and a lot of guns, the little survival booklet I got was scrunched up like a dog had tried to eat it, not sure if its supposed to be like that but I don't like it. The Vaas bobble head is quite cool but its head doesn't wobble enough! So yes brilliant game, try to get this edition if you can because its definitely worth it.

I shall keep this review short and sweet as haven't put a huge amount of time into yet as haven't had it long but my initial impressions (which I value alot :P) are fantastic graphics which are up there with Forza Horizon and Crysis 2 in my opinion. The character models and voice acting are outstanding so far and the sheer amount of content and things to do is incredible. Im not a major fan of sandbox type games as prefer more linear narratives generally but I believe it is done extremely well here and is alot of variety. I could go on and on but basically in terms of value for money and I think it has been dropped in price significantly since release already it is a must purchase for any action/adventure/FPS/light RPG hell any fan of games really!

Not a lot to add that hasn't already been written, but i buy a lot of games...despite my advancing years! and i've been disappointed a lot lately,i played Dishonored twice in about 2 days, and while it was good it was bloody short, same with Call of duty black ops 2,anyway this is big,fun and well worth 5 stars. My only niggle is that for some bizzare reason my bonus code for extras will not work! Annoying to say the least,as i purposely bought the limited edition. And why is it £114.00? I paid £49.99 in HMV!Anyway, great game and now i need to get back to it!

Absolutely brilliant game. Packaging was in a cardboard rectangular box, had brown paper wrapped around the insane edition which wasn't necessarily called as protection however the cardboard box was enough.

The game itself, is amazing. However, they did spend too much time concentrated on the single player, but that didn't bother me because there is always so much to do on the single player, so many different skills you learn and makes it so much more better, you learn something new every second throughout the whole game! Always fun and interesting, most of all very challenging!

Multi-Player is a little glitchy but obviously will be soon updated considering it is a new game.

Also a minus, in multi-player there is no parties which means you can't play with friends, only be able to invite them to the game and be against each other majority of the time!

Overall, the Far Cry 3 Insane Edition was a very good buy, would definitely recommend to any single player loving fan. However just because there is a bit of glitchyness online and that you can't have parties, I am still rating this product a Five Star as I was mainly buying it for the single player.

Don't be put off by my review on the multiplayer, because it really is amazing aswell!
