Are you a Talisman fan? Then you may well enjoy this beautifully presented board game.
To quote from the publisher's site "DungeonQuest is a re-imagining of the classic board game of dungeon exploration for 1-4 players. Set in the vibrant fantasy realm of Terrinoth (first popularized by Runebound), DungeonQuest retains the peril, tension, and brutality of the beloved original game while updating both mechanical and thematic elements. Players take on the roles of brave (or foolish) heroes willing to brave the legendary dangers of Dragonfire Dungeon. Fortune awaits those able to venture into the dragon's lair..."
The game is well made with loads of high quality [thick] cardboard tiles, an excellent board on which to place them, lots of cards to interact with as you make your way through the dungeon, and all sorts of nasties to meet (and kill).
Two possible issues (which do not detract from the overall 5*s)
1) On first playing (with my game-fanatic daughter) - we both died within the first few steps. Not sure why - probably just chance - so we rechecked the rules (and applied some of the "Alternate Rules" suggested at the end) - and since then we have even managed to escape with some LOOT!
2) The combat rules between explorer and monster take some getting used to - it is not just a case of roll two dice and see who dies - but the playing of several rounds of cards to build up the most damage. This was quite complex to get the hang of - but do persevere - the game is well worth it!
So - great fun, quite tricky to get to grips with, well made, a pleasure to use.

i have the 1st ed. of this game, and i know theres some differences, but the games the same. This game, first of all, is HARD. i mean theres about a 15% chance of a win, and thats stretching it, so if you like to win, dont buy this. If however you dont mind dieing 50 different ways in a dungeoncrawl, then you'll love this, its fast, fun, and different.
This editions made by fantasy flight, so if its anything like thier other games the pieces will be well made, and ive seen the artwork which is great

Fun:
Bought as a present for my oldest daughter. She loves it. Sent promptly. Cant comment on durability or educational value as I don't play it!
