This is excellent, as all Susanna Oroyan's books are. It has, however, inevitably dated somewhat, and as copies can now be expensive and difficult to find, you may want to consider alternatives. The two chapters on sculpting the head and body (approximately 20 pages) are extremely useful, with tips and ideas I have not seen elsewhere. Be aware that they focus on adult figures, rather than children or babies. The chapter on "new clays" is now looking rather old - you will find more up to date information on the internet. The chapters on armatures, cloth bodies, costume and presentation are covered in more detail in Susanna's more recent books on designing and making dolls. It is exactly what it says - a book of ideas (including many b&w and colour photographs of dolls) and techniques, that will spark your imagination and help you to design your own dolls - it is not a step by step guide to making a particular doll or dolls.
