Very little is known about this artist but she has an incredible breath taking voice. Take the best of Bjork, Nick Drake, Rem and mix them together. Her lyrics are highly original and the production is ahead of it's time which may be why this awesome album was sadly over looked when it was released in the late '90's, coupled with the problems that an artist of such originality would have with a major label. Buy it and I promise you will not forget the girl with the most haunting voice.

Nobody else I know owns this album or has indeed heard of the artist. I came across her by chance when I saw the video to 'Crazy' on MTV and I bought the album on the back of that one song.
Several years later the album sounds as fresh as ever and is still a regular on my playlist. She has a unique voice that can vary seemingly without effort between powerful, haunting, mellow or laden with emotion. Furthermore the tunes are almost without exception beautiful and catchy without becoming repetitive or boring, no matter how often I play them.
However I have been able to find out almost nothing about the artist herself and whether she released any further tracks or albums. Quite why Nut never quite made it big I will never know, I can only assume that it was either unfortunate timing or a lack of support from her record company as, based upon this album, she has the talent and the material to go all the way.
The music itself varies between reasonably light almost, but not quite, folksy/jazzy songs to more powerful poppy songs along the lines of Suzanne Vega or even a tamed down Chrissy Hind.
Take a chance and buy this album, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed

I couldn't agree more with the reviews above, this is a great album which i discovered in 1996 when one of my friends who worked in a record shop gave me a copy.
Every song is great, although i must admit i've only recently re-discovered it after a few years of not listening to it. I wonder what happened to her, someone this good should be releasing music.

I was working in student radio when this arrived courtesy of the local rep - clearly targeted at the student-aged market, this is a sophisticated album, quirky and distinctive, solid song-writing with some absolutely magic moments. Quite why she vanished, I'm not sure - she never had a very high profile, perhaps it was the exposure, perhaps Sony never got behind it as much as they should have done. Sony music were pushing so much at the time it may have just been neglected.

A real shame - it's an excellent piece of work. I went and bought another copy years later just to make sure in case the previous one became damaged - I assumed correctly it would become increasingly difficult to find as the years went on.
