Format: Paperback
If Gideon had been a football fan, then forget the bible, this would have been the book that he left in hotels across the country!

Now in its fourth edition, "A Fans Guide to Football Grounds" is just that, a guide to football grounds written by the fans. Whether you're off to Old Trafford, or Accrington's Crown Ground you can get top tips on how to get there, where to park and most importantly, where to drink beforehand! Not just this, but it's packed with plenty of stats about the grounds and a useful guide to how much entry and other bits such as programmes and food will set you back. Presented in an easy to follow layout, the book also contains literally hundreds of pictures from each of the 92 league grounds, giving you a glimpse of what waits ahead for the travelling fan.

Produced at a useful size and being paperback it will fit into a coat pocket, or be perfect for the car glove box, so for those of us who prefer to actually follow our clubs instead of sitting at home in front of the TV on a Saturday afternoon, this is a fantastic book that can be the difference between a good away day or a great one that goes just as planned.

Positives: Useful, concise and genuine information from fans who have been there.

Negatives: For what it is, I'm seriously struggling to think of any! It's not an in-depth book with pictures of grounds from all angles, or the full history of the ground like the Football Grounds of Great Britain/England & Wales series (Simon Inglis), but then it's not meant to be. It's a guide, and it does exactly that, better than any other I've seen so far. If you buy this book, then there is very little about visiting the ground that it won't tell you. Pretty much every question, doubt or worry will be answered there somewhere. Even if you're on the motorway in the middle of a snowstorm wondering whether a game is going to be postponed, you have the clubs phone number so you can ring ahead and check!
