Simply fantastic headphones , stylish, robust and comfortable. The sound is of excellent quality, especially with the bass option switched on. The sound reduction is excellent from supermarkets to airports , to train stations and even in my noisy open plan office, not a thing can be heard apart from your music.

The headphone splitter (allowing a trusted person to plug headphones in to your lead and share your ace tunes) is a nice touch and makes you more sociable, even in your musical solitude.

Worth the investment. My wife still asks me to turn them down (it takes her three goes and sign language to get through to me) so the noise reduction is only one way - you can't hear them... but at volume they can hear your music. Overall these deliver what is written on the very nifty magnetic clasped box though and you'll feel like you are in first class even on the way round the frozen vegetable Isle.

First, I must say I had ordered these headphones from Fanny Wang's official website "" and not Amazon - a decision I regret, and I will explain why:

1. Fanny Wang's customer service is disgraceful. Full stop. I buy a lot of electronics online and very rarely do they go wrong, but when they do I have never felt so badly treated as I have dealing with Fanny Wang co. My headphones snapped (and yours will too at some point because it's a manufacturing fault) because the shiny metal hinge plateS (-plural) you can see in the photos broke off. Those shiny metal plates are screwed in to two very flimsy plastic screw inserts. They WILL break off after regular flexing of the plastic (every time you put them on and take them off your head). Those metal plates are what reinforces the plastic headband above the hinge, an area susceptible to snapping due to regular flexure, and that's why they are there and will cause the headband to snap if they are not.

So, my FW headphones snapped after owning them for 4 months. I contacted Fanny Wang about this and the possibility of having them repaired or replaced, since it's obviously a manufacturing flaw - or so they admitted (I sent them pictures of it) and within the 2 year warranty period. Fanny Wang agreed to repair or replace it and told me to send it back to them, so I did. Despite their initial good communication in dealing with my problem before sending them off, I was not prepared for the complete lack of communication (ignoring my email's) that followed thereafter. Put it this way, the headphones were sent back on the 22nd of December 2012 and it is now coming up to April and I have NOT received by repaired or replaced headphones NOR have I received a response from them since.

Screw the Beats, get these instead. 5 Jun. 2012
By Michael D. - Published on
These particular model are the 3003, looks exactly like the picture and comes with DJ plug, airplane adapter, an authenticity card, and 2 energizer batteries. These bad boys come with two year warranty so I will be having fun playing with these.

The box: The box itself is nice and more compact than the beats, if you can the box, the Fanny Wangs are smaller and I like how they package the headphones.

The accessories: Comes with the stuff stated above and a manual, but nothing really important. Comes with a tiny zip lock bag fyi.

The Case: The case that came with headphones are now black, somewhat hard(not as hard as the beats studio) but not to worry are the headphones themselves are durable themselves so not to worry. But they are hard enough keep your headphones in a excellent condition. However my problem about these is that they fit very tightly, they don't give room for ear cups, so I would have to reform the earcups, I usually don't put them in unless I go out with them though.

The Cable: They only give 1 cable, and that cable has a control talk(not the best thing, but it's something) and the duojack(lets u split music) Best cable in the world and they are extremely durable(I had them for a few weeks to a month of use and they are still in one piece). However my downside to these is that they are not L-shaped jack, I prefer it that way but they aren't weak cables, so it's a minor for me.

The Headphones: THESE ARE FREAKING AMAZING!!! I would top these over the beats(all kinds) any day. You get 3 switches in your headphones, OFF, ANC, and BASS BOOST. Now the OFF switch works even you don't have a batteries on them or you ran out of juice(but will not work for ANC and BASS BOOST as those switches need batteries)and they just sound OK, maybe your pair of apple earphones or skullcandy, I only recommend this mode it you just ran out of batteries or you are just saving up the juice.

Now ANC(Active Noise Cancellation) switch makes the OFF switch like nothing, once you play this switch, the vocals are more clear, your mids, your highes, your lows are great and every other aspect you can think of. This switch works well if you are into the rock, classic, jazz. They sound amazing, no lie.

Now for BASS BOOST, the bass is itself is presentable, if you own the beats studios, they only thing they have is overpowering bass(which is sad cause that's most people look into now these days) and the Fanny Wang have the right amount of bass where you don't drench it and make the songs sound muddy. I prefer these than the Beats Studio or any of their products anyday. The bass is punchy and tight are good with your rap, hip hop etc.

The construction of these headphones are just amazing, the headphones are made in a matte finish, so fingerprints won't be visible, The ear cups are circular, but that's not a problem because that plus the headband(feels like rubber material) makes the headphones extremely soft, I wear these for hours and I do not feel pain whatsoever. Now if you have a huge head(like me) if you do a stress on these, the rubber headband will show as if it going to peel off next to metal part of the headband, not a problem but I feel like I should have a smaller head(lawls). But if you do a stress test, you can see that the durability of these are astonishing and you know they won't break on you unless you throw it on top of a skyscraper or something.

Conclusion: I think they are great, not the best(because there are some out there) but for a celebrity type headphone that plays all types of genres and look amazing, I see why not walk around with these. I had these bad boys for a month and it is worth every cent.

EDIT: It's November 04 2013, and I just wanted to say that these headphones still hold strong, however I notice that the metal hinges of the headphones seem to peel off in a way but doesn't yet. Like stretching them to 180 degrees might do the trick, but other than that, they are still in good condition. But anyways I wanted to say I later sold them due to switching to other pair of headphones(I like to see what new headphones have to offer). And I think the price is cheaper now? I would only reccomend these if you AREN'T a bass head, these won't do for you, not even bass boost does justice. But maybe other audiophiles might like these cans(I can't guarantee that). And just a FYI, I wouldn't recommend wearing these in the streets, THEY ARE HUGE!

Hoping They Work! 4 Aug. 2013
By JB - Published on
I ordered two pairs of headphones that I received a promotional price for. I travel frequently and I was looking for a solid set that packed a little smaller than the Beats I own. These phones have some plusses and minuses...

- Pack up smaller than Beats. I appreciate that given the restrictions on carry-ons these days.
- I like that they can be used without engaging the battery if you don't use the noise-cancelling feature.
- Noise cancelling works well. Headphones sound great at altitude. Overall volume is a little softer than I'd like but decent.
- The phones feel good on the ears but the top bar is a bit rigid and after prolonged use you can feel it a bit.
- And now my issue...after about 3 months they shorted in one ear. I can tell you I take excellent care of them, they are either in the case or on my head. No one else uses them so I know they haven't been abused in any way. Stuff happens so I'm willing to give them another shot but I do have a criticism of the return process!

First you need to submit your email explaining the situation. You're then sent a form that they use to generate an RGA creating an extra step beyond just sending the RGA at the first request. Then they send you that form and ask that you ship them back. They do not provide any shipping assistance so for these $300 headphones that stopped working 90 days after I purchased them I had to pay $25 to ship them back. That's disappointing customer service from my perspective. I think they, at the least, should provide ground shipping back for their defective products.

I am awaiting my replacement pair and hoping to have them soon. I hope that these will last longer!

Exactly what I was looking for. 30 May 2012
By Sydney - Published on
I own the Dre Beats Pro's and love the sound of them but the problem is they are not comfortable. So I was looking for some head phones that would stand up to those with sound quality and I could wear on long plane rides. These sound perfect and are very comfort because they fit over the whole ear. Thanks for the great headphone.
love these headphones! 5 July 2013
By Martin R. Cagan - Published on
This review is from my teenage daughter (the headphones were a gift to her):

When I got these headphones, I was really excited that I had gotten such a nice gift. When I immediately tried them out, I realized they were beyond awesome.

Their ear pieces are really comfortable because of the cushions on the pieces. I really like how at the end of the cord by the plug in, there is a little gadget that allows another person to plug in their headphones to listen to the same music.

I was really impressed on how well they sound. They sound nice and clear and I love the switch on the side of them that's used for sound cancelation. I also love the bass part of switch.

All in all, I highly recommend these headphones. They work beautifully and I think they are nicer than others that cost more.

Disappointed Owner 30 Jun. 2012
By Nick - Published on
I received the Fanny Wang 3000 series over-the-ear noise cancelling headphones as a gift. I had been looking for good noise-cancelling headphones because I study in the library every day. I tested both the Beats and the Fanny Wangs. I liked that the Fanny Wangs had an option to use noise cancelling or not, since it uses battery. If I'm in my basement at home, noise cancelling isn't an issue, so I can save the battery. The Beats always run on battery. I thought the sound quality was about equal.

This week (six months later) there is no sound coming out of the right cup. After investigating and trying to reach Fanny Wang, I have gotten nowhere. It appears that they operate out of a small office in California with no way to reach them. They have a voicemail and email addresses, but those are only good if they get back to you. After investing 300 dollars into their headphones and even recommending them to friends, they have let me down.

I picked up a pair of Beats studios ($300) and I am happy with them. I also have the peace of mind knowing that if they break, there is a much bigger company behind them to at least discuss my options.

I tried to make a decision based purely on sound/aesthetics, but I should have just followed the crowd and gotten the Beats to begin with.
