Product Description

After the death of his wife, Bruce Holden moves to the quaint coastal fishing village of Mulberry with his son, Jack. He is hoping for a fresh start, but the locals greet their arrival with mixed reactions, from friendliness to open hostility. Bruce puts it down to them being outsiders, but when a tourist is killed while swimming, the real horror is unleashed. There's something ravenous in the sea. Something that's coming ashore in search of prey. Now Bruce and Jack find themselves embroiled in a nightmare where humankind is no longer at the top of the food chain.

First there was the Creature From The Black Lagoon…
Then there was Jaws…
Prepare yourself for Fangtooth.

More About the Author

Shaun Jeffrey was brought up in a house in a cemetery, so it was only natural for his prose to stray towards the dark side when he started writing. Among his 30-plus writing credits are short stories published in Surreal Magazine, Dark Discoveries, Shadowed Realms, and Cemetery Dance. He has also had two collections published, The Mutilation Machination and Voyeurs of Death and five novels, Killers, The Kult, Deadfall, Fangtooth and Evilution. His novel, The Kult has been filmed by Gharial Productions and will hopefully be released soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!! 21 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was my first book by Shaun Jeffrey, and it was with a little bit of trepidation that I bought it, as it sounded a little silly - even though I'm a massive fan of monster books! Well, how extremely pleasantly surprised I was! Yes there were the monsters, but the book was mainly about the lead characters and how moving to a sleepy seaside village brought out the worst in some of the locals. Very exciting and unputdownable! The story lead nicely up to the climactic finish, and although it didn't explain how the monsters got there, that can be forgiven as the writing was first class! Bruce and Jack were fantastic characters, with all the ups and downs a single parent has with trying to bring up a sullen teenage boy all by himself, after his wife died. The baddies were really bad, and the goodies were exceptional. I've already downloaded another four of Shaun's books, and can't wait to read the next! Keep 'em coming Shaun, as you're a very talented writer!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Creature feature :) 14 Feb 2014

Loved this book.
Have really enjoyed all of Jeffreys work. This one has a bit of everything I enjoy. I love stories like the Wickerman, shadow over Innsmouth, Dagon and have recently got into Laymon's books. So this fed all these aspects with Jeffrey's endearing character and gripping storytelling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good creature story! 17 Jan 2014
I picked this up recently from Dark Regions during a sale, and I am very glad that I did! I have been looking at getting this for a while, as I thought it sounded like an enjoyable read. Really like that cover too, of course. :) Really enjoyed the action and the interaction between the characters. If you don't like descriptions of gore, I would suggest avoiding this title, but if you do like that kind of stuff I highly recommend picking this one up! This was my first read of Jeffrey's work, but I have picked up more since reading it.

Definitely rating this one as one of my favouritest stories. It starts with a bang and draws you right in, and then keeps you on the edge of your seat right until the end.
It's a really good mix of everything: grief, difficult relationships, love, a bit of romance, some seriously crazy and weird people, some gore, and definitely lots of suspense and lots of action. Me = happy reader !
I had an absolute great time reading this book, such a shame it's so hard to get hold of, more people should read it ! (Original review from the limited edition hardback imported from the US - now that it's widely available as an e-book, you have no excuses not to read it !)
