Reviews

From Amazon.co.uk

The adventures of the Griffin family continue apace with this latest Family Guy boxset, which once again delivers many hours of quite brilliant animated comedy.

The show, for those new to it, follows the wonderful Griffin family, headed up by the daft but loveable Peter and the happily oblivious Lois, through to their teenage kids Chris and Meg. But as any seasoned Family Guy viewer will happily tell you, the gold of the show lies with the two characters who are the brains of the family. On the one hand there’s Brian the dog, and then on the other is the little baby Stewie. He, surely, is the absolute highlight, a maniacal evil genius of a child, who in this season seven set finally manages to kill Lois. Insert your own evil laugh here.

The 12 episodes on offer in the Family Guy season 7 boxset aren’t all vintage, but there are some cracking inclusions. The 100th episode special is a good place to start, and then there’s the small matter of President Bush’s underwear going walkabout. Throw in a bit of time travel for Peter, and it’s the usual oddball mix that helps make the show so strong.

With plenty of rewatch value and a continued ability to generate laughs, Family Guy is a show that’s still thriving on the evidence with this set. And frankly, the next collection of episodes on DVD can’t come quickly enough. --Jon Foster

Product Description

The complete seventh season of the animated sitcom. The Griffins are an average North American family living in an average North American home in an average North American town. The dad Peter (voice of Seth MacFarlane) is a big TV fan; mom Lois (voice of Alex Borstein) is a former heiress who gave up her riches to marry the man she loves; 16-year-old Meg (voice of Mila Kunis) is a drama queen eager to be accepted by her peers; 13-year-old Chris (Seth Green) likes his food and has the beginnings of a TV habit which could grow to equal his dad's; baby Stewie (voice of MacFarlane) is a malevolent genius with plans for complete global domination; and martini-guzzling Brian is, well, the family dog. The episodes are: 'No Meals on Wheels', 'Boys Do Cry', 'No Chris Left Behind', 'It Takes a Village Idiot, and I Married One', 'Meet the Quagmires', 'Movin' Out (Brian's Song)', 'Believe It Or Not, Joe's Walking On Air', 'Stewie Kills Lewis (1)', 'Lois Kills Stewie (2)', 'McStroke', 'Padre De Familia' and 'Peter's Daughter'.

5.0 out of 5 stars If your a fan of family guy then this is a must 27 Jun 2010
By Rebecca
Format:DVD
The episodes consist of the last 5 episodes from the american season 6 and then the first 7 episodes of season 7. all of them are very funny, but the highlight of the box set has to be the episodes stewie kills lois and lois kills stewie. just brilliant

the special features are great too. the live table read in front of an audience is great, as is the 100th episode special and the deleted scenes.

if your a fan of family guy then this is a must.

i hope my first review of a product has helped someone decide on whether or not to buy this dvd

3.0 out of 5 stars Give Us More Episodes!!! 13 Nov 2008
Format:DVD
Finally, after a year since the release of Family Guy Season Six comes Season Seven. I've been a Family Guy fan since the beginning, since it was aired on Channel 4 at 6pm in 1999 here in the UK. I have bought every single season on DVD. With the release of Season Four, Fox decided that it would only release half seasons for the price of a full season (seasons one, two and three were the complete seasons). It didn't stop me buying them but I felt a little cheated. Now we have Season Seven.

Only twelve episodes accompany this season, the lowest in a Family Guy DVD season yet!! While the show is as funny as ever this set is an complete shambles and will leave you hungry for more. Maybe that was Fox's intention, so we would rush out and buy the next half of a season on DVD which will probably be released in another year's time. I hope Fox sees sense and starts to release them complete and not just a handful at a time.

Overall: Family Guy is as hilarious as it always is but with this Season it will be over before you know it. 3/5.
