Reviews

Critics agree... of all the animated shows featuring a talking dog and a maniacal baby, Family Guy is certainly one of them!

Join the Griffin clan for another 16 freaking funny episodes that'll keep you laughing long after the series gets cancelled again. Witness panicky Peters first prostate exam; see lovable Lois jump into bed with Bill Clinton; watch miserable Meg get a crappy job at the local superstore; hear crazy Chris sing in a goth band; follow boozing Brian all the way to Iraq and back; and get a rare glimpse of smitten Stewie as he hooks up with a very young old flame. Sweet!

Family Guy is and likely to remain way better than the Simpsons. Don't get me wrong but I love the Simpsons, but this is what it would be if no one told them to be aware they are a family show.

For the unintiated this is a cartoon about a family with an idiot father, a halfwit son, depressed daughter, hyper-intelligent baby, talking dog and with the mum as a comic feed.

Family Guy has not lost it's egde and while it's hard to pick out a classic like the Sinatra Jr episode from series 5, they're all of a good standard.

Stewie & Brian are paired up for more episodes and get a "Road" story again, which leads to some marvellous moments.

Some new ideas are tried e.g. Meg falling in love with Brian and Stewie temporarily loving his mother like a regular baby would.

Returning old favourites include the lovelorn Herbert and his half dead dog & Stewie's ex-dancing partner from series 3 Olivia.

There are the usual deleted scenes and commentaries plus a class in how to draw Peter.

If you love Family Guy, you have got to have this!

No one series of Family Guy has all of the episodes.

Season One DVD is made up of
DISC ONE: Season One
DISC TWO: First Part Of Season Two

Season Two DVD is made up of:
DISC ONE: Second Part Of Season Two
DISC TWO: Third Part Of Season Two & One Episode Of Season Three

Season Three DVD is made up of:
DISC ONE: First Part Of Season Three
DISC TWO: Second Part Of Season Three
DISC THREE: Third Part Of Season Three - Minus the last episode which is on Season Two DVD

Season Four DVD is made up of:
DISC ONE: First Part Of Season Four
DISC TWO: Second Part Of Season Four
DISC THREE: Third Part Of Season Four

Season Five DVD is made up of:
DISC ONE: Fourth Part Of Season Four
DISC TWO: Fifth Part Of Season Four
DISC THREE: Sixth Part Of Season Four - Minus Final Three Episodes

Family Guy Presents: Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story
DISC CONTAINS: The Final Three episodes of Season Four, which are not on the season five DVD, and are here merged, with bonus material, into an eighty minute movie.

Season Six DVD is made up of:
DISC ONE: First Part of Season Five
DISC TWO: Second Part Of Season Five
DISC THREE: Special Features

There are still a few more episodes from Season Five that are not on this new Season Six DVD, which will presumably be released with the Season Seven DVD, alongside the first episodes of Season Six.

In fact, the first episode of Season Six (the actual series, not the DVD) is called Blue Harvest, a one hour special Star Wars feature. The whole of Star Wars Episode Four, Family Guy style, with Chris as Luke, Peter as Han, Lois as Leia, Stewie as Darth Vader, Brian as Chewbacca and Meg as the squid monster in the trash compactor! It will be released seperatley on DVD in January 2008.

This season is amazing, like all the others. Seth MacFarlane is a complete genius, i love this way this show takes the mick out of every day things, people, all kinds of stuff - and slaps them all together into a very witty and well animated cartoon. some people are very shallow and don't understand the humor, usually boring unimaginative people. if you have a sensor of humor and you want to be entertained, this is definitely worth watching. if your thinking about buying it........ buy it!

This was bought as a present for my son, so I have not viewed it. I have caught Family Guy on TV however, and enjoyed the iconoclastic mood and dreadful sexism and other prejudices!
Not for the stick-in-the-mud!
Challenging in the extreme, but if one has a sense of humour and an appreciation of one's fellow man/woman, it is easy to laugh at human foibles and disfunctions.

Certainly makes my life seem really peachy!

I'm a big fan of the show, but series 4 and 5 were really quite disappointing. Series 6 is much more consistent - each episode contains several genuinely funny gags, plenty of crude humour and even a little quality satire. Still not as well observed as the first three series but a decent return to form.

Do not listen to the reviews saying that Family Guy is slipping. This season is the strongest yet with brilliant storylines and sharp gags.

I'll admit, havin only 13 episodes is a bit annoying but the material within more than makes up for it. Peter continues to amaze with his stupidity and this season continues to push the boundaries.

Of course there are 1 or two episodes that didn't make me laugh out loud as much as they should but overall it is a very funny season (with particular attention to Chick Cancer, Road to Rupert and the brilliant Tan Aquatic With Steve Zissou)

Some say the show has changed from the earlier seasons and it has, its become funnier.

With great episodes and loads of bonus features this is money well spent
