Product Description

When Christine Blacksworth's larger-than-life father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, New York, a hundred miles from the 'getaway' cabin he visited every month, she discovers a secret that threatens everything she's always held to be true. Her father has another family which includes a mistress and a daughter. Determined to uncover the truth behind her father's secret life, Christine heads to Magdalena, prepared to hate the people who have caused her to question everything she thought she knew about her father. But what she finds is a woman who understands her, a half sister who cherishes her, and a man who could love her if she'll let him. The longer she's around them, the more she questions which family is the real one. . .

Note: This book contains sexual content and profanity. While the author believes these situations are handled in good taste, she acknowledges some readers will choose to pass on this book.

Look for A Family Affair: Spring - coming late 2013. Coming in the future: A Family Affair: Summer and A Family Affair: Fall.

Included in the Kindle edition of A Family Affair are 2 Chapters of PULLING HOME - She'll risk anything to save her child...even the truth.

About the Author

Mary Campisi should have known she’d become a writer when at age thirteen she began changing the endings to all the books she read. It took several years and a number of jobs for her to rediscover writing. Enter a mouse-less computer, a floppy disk, and a dream large enough to fill a zip drive. The rest of the story lives on in every book she writes. When she’s not working on her craft or following the lives of five young adult children, Mary’s digging in the dirt with her flowers and herbs, cooking, reading, walking her rescue lab mix, Cooper, or on the prefect day, riding off into the sunset with her very own “hero” husband, on his Electra Glide Classic aka Harley. Mary has been published with Kensington, Carina Press, The Wild Rose Press, and Jocelyn Hollow Romance. 4.0 out of 5 stars The best freebie ever! 9 Aug 2012
By PPW TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm a sucker for freebies. Whether it is the latest vitamin drink, chocolate bar or pack of tissue. Sometimes I've been known to walk down a road twice just so I can get two chocolate bars for free. So, when I saw this free book on Amazon that had high ratings I downloaded it just for kicks.

The story is about a man who dies in a car crash and the secret second family he has hidden for 14 years. His wife and daughter have to piece together their lives and discover the other life of a man they thought they knew. We follow the daughter as she goes on a journey to discover the secrets that the second family hold. It is emotional and heartfelt in parts and you like to find out what is happening next. There is romance, strained family relationships and it is quite a pacy read.

Now I am not a huge family saga fan or one of the people that goes gaga over mysteries. However, I did find this book hard to put down and something I would recommend to my friends. The plot is a little predictable but there is something nice about reading a good old fashioned family mystery - one that doesn't feel the need for lots of machine guns or over the top characters. It is the sort of book you can read on a rainy day or in the park. Nothing too taxing or too literary. Just a "nice" read to while the time and I did start to care for the characters which says a lot!

Try it and if you don't like it you shouldn't really complain because it is FREE!
