Book Description

1 Jan 1994 The Adams Family (Book 5)
1926 was the year of the General Strike, but Adams Enterprises, under the wily management of Sammy Adams, youngest entrepreneur in Walworth and Lambeth, was doing very well. All the Adams brothers worked in the business, and so did two of the wives, Emily and Susie. There was just one dark cloud on the horizon - the impending trial of Gerald Ponsonby. Boots had been the one responsible for catching the murderer, and Ponsonby hated Boots and, indeed, the entire Adams family. He was determined to get his revenge and make them suffer. When a dapper, quiet, but rather odd lodger turned up at Doreen Paterson's house, nobody thought anything was amiss. It never occurred to Doreen - who worked for Boots in Adams Enterprises and thought him just wonderful - that the strange lodger might be plotting the downfall of the irrepressible, outrageous, and larger-than-life Adams clan.

4.0 out of 5 stars good book 21 Oct 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
really enjoyed this story. my only niggle is a stamped price on the top,(an old price)
on the outer pages and a name written inside. i seem to remember the description saying there was no
written marks on the book. the condition was good i'd say but not very good.
this however is a difference of opinion and doesnt affect the read or the fact that the item was delivered
very quickly.

This is another book which details the Adams family lives, although this one deviates a little from the actual Adams family which I always find a bit sad as I love the Adams family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Old Mary Jane Staples 22 Jun 2012

Another great MJS story. This time, it's the trial of Gerald Ponsonby, the man Boots put behind bars. He's out for revenge, but how, and will he succeed? It's the year of the general strike, so Sammy Adams is up to his eyes in trying to keep the businesses going as successfully as ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Family Affair 30 Jun 2013

This is the 5th book in the series and it is just to compelling a read I do not want to put it down. Each book can be read individually but it is better to follow the family from book one. You just feel you are one of the family, totally involved in their day to day living.
