Anyone can write a book! Few can tell a heartrending story with such insight and passion! Ken Scott, assisted by David Rowland, has created another block buster following on from 'Do the birds still sing in hell'. The attention to detail and historical accuracy do not detract from the excellent narrative which carries the readers along on a roller coaster of emotions. The book could be described as an easy way to understand the very complex nature of the Spanish Civil War. Even as a hardened old former soldier, I found myself 'dewy eyed' on page 260 as the story was coming to a close. I would recommend this book for any age group and gender as it touches the senses in a way that, I believe, will appeal to all.
