CLASSIC STUFF!!!!, 16 Oct 2004
This is an amazing live album from one of the greatest live bands ever, second only to perhaps Led Zeppelin. As an Oasis fan, I got this album for Christmas last year and I was far from disappointed. It contains pretty much all of the band's greatest hits, and nearly all of them sound better than they do on the original albums. The tracks are as follows:1.Go let it out (7/10) A great song to open off and a catchy tune, although the best is still to come. 2.Who feels love (5/10) The only bad song on the album. Unfortunately I did not enjoy this one. A combination of weak lyrics and a tune that never quite gets off the ground make this song not to my taste. 3. Supersonic (8/10) Brilliant, this song is a stroke of genius. It's a song that you can listen to over and over again and it's one of the best tracks on the album. 4. Shakermaker (7/10) Again, a pretty good tune. It has a quite slow rhythm, and it works. 5. Acquiesce (7/10) One of the few songs on the CD where the live version is not as good as the album version. Still, a brilliant live performance of Oasis' greatest ever B-side. 6. Gas Panic (8/10) This is one of my favorites on the CD. Just like it says at the beginning; "It's a good f**king tune, this!" 7. Roll with it (8/10) Splendid, quick tempo song that is very catchy. 8. Wonderwall (9/10) This IS my favorite song on this CD. The live version is played at a tempo which is about 50 times faster than the album version, and is about 50 times better, too! Magnificent. 9. Cigarettes and Alcohol (9/10) Forget Elvis Presley, this is proper rock n' roll. This is a dazzling track, one where you will find yourself picking up an air guitar and playing it half way through! The only thing I hate about this one is the long and pointless guitar solo at the beginning. 10. Don't look back in anger (8/10) A solid live performance of one of the band's most famous songs. Complaints; they let the audience sing the chorus which is irritating, and it's not as good as the album version.(but then again, it is almost impossible to top such a classic track.) 11. Live Forever (8/10) Classic! A marvelous example of the band's original style of rock. 12. Champagne Supernova (8/10) Fantastic, slow tune. Quite similar to Shakermaker. Again, a song that sounds much better when played live, and it lasts a long time. 13. Rock n'Roll Star (7/10) Last, but not least, a very apt song to finish this amazing album off. The crowd were really into this one. If you are thinking of buying this CD, then you definitely must. Trust me, you will not find a better live album like this around today. Also a must for all Oasis fans.
