Product Description

Boniebelle Sarvaunt always knew she didn't belong in the backwater Louisiana swamps of her youth. Fair-haired and pale-skinned in a Cajun domain, raised by her withdrawn ant and uncle, she was endowed with a generous allowance-and an extraordinary talent for painting. When Bonnie turned 15, The Man bought her a box sealed by her mother before her death. Inside is a death certificate-for Bonnie. So begins the tale of Bonnie's search for herself.and for the mother she believes may still be alive, somewhere. Hunted Second book in the DeLande Saga. 2004 Reissue Edition by Bella Rosa Books.

Dark Like the Bayou 11 Nov 1997
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
The sequal to Gwen Hunter's "Betrayl", which continues the story of the vicious DeLande family. Bonnibelle's character is intriguing and a delight to read. Hard to put down and easy to pick up and read again! Masterful writing from an author who deserves more credit.

HYPNOTIC, MAGNIFICENTLY TOLD TALE! 1 Mar 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I could not put this book down. I felt as if I was down there in the bayou and in New Orleans. Ms. Hunter has conveyed a sense of place so elegantly, so eloquently, I was literally there with Bonnibelle every minute. What a wonderful heroine. What fabulous portraits of the other characters - from Perkins to Miss CeCe to Rhames, Michau, Miles, the Grand Dame and Azalea - one and all. Fabulous!

This author, has captured the smells, warmth, and excitement of louisiana. Her descrivitive writings have taken me there, when I don't even need to leave the house. I hope she continues the sequel. When you want to walk into a book I highly suggest this read. Becareful you'll get hungry!
