I bought mine on release date from GAME and paid significantly more than it is offered for here. So if you wished you got it at the time, this is an absolute steal of a price. I love the fallout series and have spent many hours playing the game. The PS3 version does have some freezing and framerate issues sadly, but you can work around these if you are patient and still enjoy the game. My personal tip is to save regularly and quit as soon as it starts to slow down, this way you avoid it freezing completely and do not lose too much progress. There are many reviews relating to the game itself in the standard edition's page, my guess is if you are here you are already a fallout fan and are wondering if the special edition is worth it. I personally think it is. It comes in a nice box which is not as big as some other collector's editions (I'm looking at you, Bioshock 2) and contains some nice goodies. The playing cards are particularly well done, each featuring a different character from the game, the poker chips and the platinum chip are sturdy and well made, the making of disc is standard stuff but worth a watch and my absolute favourite thing is the All Roads hardback graphic novel. It is thinner than I expected but beautifully drawn and an interesting bit of back story for the game. You also get some downloadable weapons and other in game stuff thrown in, which is a nice added bonus.
Some might argue that this stuff is pretty useless, but if you enjoy fallout and like collecting game merchandise then this is a nice set to have. I only wish it had been this reasonably priced when it was released!
The game in the box is the standard edition without the dlc missions. After I completed the game I traded the disc and got the ultimate edition so I could have all the dlc on one disc.
