5.0 out of 5 stars Epic 27 Oct. 2009

Fallout 3 is without a doubt one of the most immersive games I've ever played and this expansion stays true to the intentions of the main game. Broken Steel continues the narrative for anyone unhappy with the original ending whilst Point Lookout is a genuinely expansive new area to explore. For the price, it's a must have for any Fallout 3 fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bordering on genius 31 Aug. 2009

To begin lets clear something up, if you are like me and dont have access to XBox live maybe you have a dongle like I do and can find to way of doing this or maybe you refuse to pay for the priv of online play when you have already spent a couple of hundred on the Xbox and game. Yes you can purchase them on Xbox live but if you dont have it then here we find ourselves. Also YES you could wait for the Game of the Year edition which features all 5 add ons but who can be bothered waiting for that. Its not like your paying 30 - 40 quid for these add ons is it, 12 quid maybe 15! Better still if your mate doesnt have XBox live either and wants the same expansions but cant afford the points to buy them and you are already buying them all you have to do is update your hard drive with it and pass it on.

Anyway this expansion is a bit more impressive than the first one, Broken Steel lets you carry on (following Ron Pearlman's speech which you still get) two weeks later you awake in the Brotherhood and have been in a coma, the mission to end the remnants of The Enclave starts here. Thankfully the fight is more epic and the technology is very handy to have especially when you find your Plasma Rifles arent up to much in the other expansion of Point Lookout...the bad guys wont die easy. When you have completed Broken Steel the game doesnt end so you are free to carry on BUT you cannot begin Broken Steel until you have completed the main quest but im sure you know that already.

Point Lookout is one freaky place and the map is massive it will keep you busy for a few hours just finding all the locations and killing whatever gets in your way and they will. This is a thrilling, creepy and innovative expansion.

The expansion as a whole is much less brief as The Pitt and Operation Anchorage now all we need is Mothership Zeta.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must! 7 Sept. 2010
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Having purchased the actual game, I read to my horror that at the end there was no continuation. So I quickly purchased this add-on and I can tell you how pleased I was that I did. As I'm sure all Fallout3 fans will agree, the map is huge (I haven't even explored 1/2 of it myself yet, despite 2 play throughs). It would be such a shame that so much gameplay, graphics etc is missed by gamers simply because the game ends, and thats where I highly reccomend this expansion pack. Admittedly once you've completed most missions there isn't alot to do, but it'll be a long time before you get to that stage.

Broken steel allows you to continue your fight against the enclave with a dramatic conclusion
and point lookout added a whole new map to the entire game, which certainly added a different kind of gaming experiance.

For Fallout3 fans, THIS IS A MUST!

5.0 out of 5 stars You won't be seen for weeks... 28 Jan. 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
Having not played the previous 2 Fallout games, I didn't know what to expect with this one. At first I found it really difficult - like I was a little girl in a big, scary world... but once I began strengthening my character through building on her abilities, I discovered just how brilliant, addictive and exciting this game was!

You could spend hundreds of hours completing every single side mission and exploring this enormous world. I'm a huge fan of open-world games and this didn't disappoint.

The Add On pack was harddddd. You need to be a high level before you play those quests. I think my character was on a high level when I started but I still found it difficult, yet still very enjoyable.

If you enjoyed this then follow it up with New Vegas to continue on your adventures!

4.0 out of 5 stars At the seaside 21 Feb. 2011

These two add-ons are reckoned to be better than the others available.
I don't know, not having played the others, but I found Point Lookout to be excellent value. New types of NPCs, new weapons, a great land/seascape, plenty of swimming, and good quests. Not to mention an all-time-great glitch (clue: check out Haley's Hardware) and a genuinely funny psychotropic plant experience.

As for Broken Steel, it's okay, but, with the wonderful exception of Liberty Prime, ultimately sub-standard to the main game. The quests kind of fizzle out, and personally I find Elder Lyons to be the most irritating computer generated character of all time.

If you are not quite ready for Fallout:New Vegas, these add-ons are a very adequate stop gap solution.

5.0 out of 5 stars More of the good stuff 27 Feb. 2011
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
To put it very simply, if you enjoy Fallout 3, then buy this add on.

- It adds probably another third of your total play time on
- Grants an extra 10 levels (with new perks)
- Gives you access to brand new weapons (such as the double barrel shotgun and heavy incinerator)
- An entirely new location to explore

The Broken Steel add on is by far the best of all add ons (with Operation: Anchorage coming a close second) in regards to just what you get for your money. Its worth it just to get the chance to go around killing mutated hillbillies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
Well worth a play, it may be graphically a bit low quality on the xbox, but if you don't mind that it's gameplay and quests are far better than similar games ie Skyrim
