Puts a lovely edge on my knives, probably not as good as Japanese water stones or Arkansas oil stones would, but given the price difference I wasn't expecting it to. Despite my slight worries when purchasing the size is a good compromise between portability and practicality. However the two sides are completely seperate and held together with the weakest of adhesives, they fell apart within days with no misuse on my part. They are easy to glue back togther so its a question of quality control rather than a serious flaw in the design. The leather pouch is also a nice touch

Very nice stone with lovely leather case. Works well with smaller blades by holding it in place with a couple of nails on a plank of wood, or you can easily hold it in your hand to work on longer blades to make a razor sharp edge. I even used it to easily get my saber's 28" blade to a hair cutting, razor sharp finish. Works well with both straight and circular motions and dry use makes it very practical. Highly recommended!

This is one of my must have items when i disappear into the woods and coast where i live, i think the fact its so small is brilliant, i always leave it in my day pack just to keep that great edge on your knife, just remember this will not make a butter knife into a scalpel, this is for maintenance of a sharp edge, i heard someone complain on another website about that.
All in all brilliant, a must have companion to your knives if you plan on being out for a few days with alot of bushcraft or carving usage, also keep a good quality leather belt with you just to put that surgical edge on :-)

Do not be fooled into thinking this stone is as good as people are saying, it was once a great stone but no longer is. A few years back the DC4 was a very affordable and well made product that produced a very fine edge even on modern steels. Around 2 years ago when I purchased mine and I discovered (and a very large ammount of others did too) that Fallkniven has gotten too big for their boots and decided quality control wasn't important! I'm not joking, mine stone came concave and unusable, not only that but the centre of the stone was infact covered in blade damaging bumps. After contacting fallkniven about the stone and to see when they would replace it they rudely shrugged me off and claimed I had to wait 6 months before I could return their cheap tatty product for 'inspection'. However, they no longer use the same materials as before and although mine was faulty and barely workable the materials were great(emerald ceramic) and the stones produced before they cheaped out were genuinely good. The new DC4 stone is made of a far inferior rough and cheap 'ceramic' (feels more like a poumus piece)that they are trying to make out is better. The new stones seem to pass quality control better than the last of their previous line but the materials now are just cheap. My advice is avoid and instead go for the very well made and superior (even to the early dc4 stones!)'Spyderco double stuff', it is excellent and also a better size. Hope this helps.

A good combination of around 400-600 grit diamond and 2000+ ceramic to make a very usefull sharpener for trevelling with.

Though it has a small surface to work on it is compatible with any size blade. I used it on my larger blade, which was quite dull, and with a bit more patience got a razor edge.
Only complaint is I put it in a clamp for large blades to get the pressure + it slipped about on certain surfaces but a block of wood with a cut out delve would solve this.
This is for my travel utility box so is ideal!

A quality product in a splendid leather case. Can't enthuse enough about the quality and effectiveness of this product. It well exceeds my expectations and i only wish I had owned one years ago.

I really like this item. It leaves a much finer edge on my knives than the old carborundum stones I was accustomed to use. Furthermore I don't have to wet the stone before use since it is a diamond stone. I was particularly pleased that it came with a handy pouch.
