Book Description

The forecast is smooth sailing for Oliver Chancellor, scion of Galveston's premier financier. Destined to take his place in the hallowed marble corridors of his family's bank, Chance is content with the future that's been mapped out for him, right down to his upcoming engagement to a prim debutante enthusiastically approved by his socialite mother. But when beautiful Rory St Claire crosses his path, Chance recklessly plunged into uncharted territory with nothing but his heart to guide him - and a beautiful woman to tempt him...Propelled by a lifelong goal to buy the island home reportedly haunted by her colourful ancestors, Rory desperately needs Chance's help in securing a business loan, and she won't take no for an answer. In the midst of convincing the hesitant blueblood to take a chance on her dream, Rory unexpectedly lands in Chance's arms, stunned by his red-blooded passion - and her own awakened desire. Now, the mismatched pair can't keep their hands off one another, and something tells Rory she's headed for trouble - trouble in the name of love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be prepared for a fantastic romance! 4 Jan 2005
Format:Mass Market Paperback
If you're looking for a fun yet lustful novel then this is it! Falling for you is the first of the St Claire trilogy, featuring the youngest of the siblings, Rory St. Claire and the ever charming Oliver Chancellor. An explosion of passion, a reckless hunger for each other, Rory and Chance have many obstacles to overcome. And its not just the rumours that surround the St. Claire's name thats holding them back... Its a book filled with passion! It has humour, tears, and the way Julie Ortolon brings out her wonderful characters! Its a book not to be missed! Be sure to look up Allison St. Claire in 'Lead Me On', and finally Adrian St. Claire in 'Don't Tempt Me'

An unforgettable trilogy of laughter and passion, with a beautifl history surrounding Pearl Island and wonderful yet heart rendering story telling of a pirates treasure.

2.0 out of 5 stars WEAK PLOT 4 Mar 2012
By L. Sims TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Rory and Chance get together, there is serious chemistry between these two. But Chance has a prior obligation his family expect him to marry Paige the daughter of very close family friends. The fact that Chance has never dated Paige or spent any time with her doesn't seem to matter as he seems to take this supposed engagement very seriously. So I did not get why he involved himself with Rory if he wasn't expecting it to go anywhere, and why would a bright and beautiful woman like Rory entangle herself with a guy who has a prior commitment. Chance isn't always very nice to Rory either which was another annoyance. As a plot device the engagement was weak. I would have preferred it if there had been a different obstacle between them such as family objections for instance, rather than insult the reader with this other nonsense.
This author certainly has talent but I just could not get past the weak plot. It wasn't as if Paige was all that keen on Chance either so the whole thing was silly.

2.0 out of 5 stars 2.5 stars. 24 Aug 2012

Oliver Chancellor is a blue-blooded banker whose perfectly orchestrated life plan includes a comfortable career and a socially prominent (if not very exciting) future wife. Then sexy Aurora St. Claire enlists him to help her obtain financing for her dream: turning a mysterious Galveston mansion, which is part of her colorful family heritage, into a bed and breakfast.

Passion ignites over the loan application, but Chance can't see impetuous, earthy and iconoclastic Rory fitting into his orderly existence.

Meanwhile, Rory discovers that she's fallen in love with Chance which she's not ready to admit to this unavailable man.

Only when Chance becomes a partner in the inn and begins to see the emptiness of his glittering future can the couple come together in a happy ending that arrives after just the right amount of drama.

A legend of a long-ago love and haunting runs throughout the book, adding a nice touch of melancholy to a tale as sunny as its Texas setting.

Alright I suppose but only because it was free!
