I bought this because it was recommended by Amazon. A first and a last.
It's incredibly overwritten rendering it almost unreadable. The self righteous protagonist is unconvincing and alienating. Try anything by James Lee Burke of Douglas Kennedy instead.

Falling off Air is a fantastic read. Robin Ballantyne's story is so compelling and her voice really draws you in. I read this in a single sitting - the crime plot itself is chilling and intoxicating from the first page, but Robin's hectic home life also provides a lot of laughs. I would recommend this novel to anyone and I'll definitely be looking out for more books by this author.

Had to force myself to finish this but I should have called it a day after chapter two. It was a little predictable and boring - I was distracted from what could have been a half-decent plot by numerous references to the twins' nappies, milk and nappy-clad bottoms that I found myself waiting for the next mention of them. Other pointless references included the main character's sister's medical condition and the juggling of baby care. Hopefully in her next book the author will ease up on the domestic padding and concentrate more on fleshing out the lesser characters' personalities. I sussed out the 'baddie' early on and the storyline did drag but the book still could have been rescued with the help of a good editor I think. I couldn't recommend this book to anyone.
