The facts : Serenity are a melodic power metal outfit from Austria. The singer has a strong crisp clear voice. The keyboard and guitar sound amazing and rival anything i have ever heard.

From the start this album kicks. Top tune after top tune. In fact the only slightly weak one on the whole disc is Oceans of Ruby and then thats just my opinion. But for sure the rest are great.

Seriously, buy this if you love melodic metal in the style of Sonata Arctica et al. In fact if SA had released this as a follow up to Silence i reckon they would still be at the very top of everyones tree.

Cant wait for the next one Serenity !!

There seem to be a lot of power metal bands playing this style of power metal out there these days. Unfortunately, Serenity haven't quite got the killer formula yet. There are some quality songs on it, like All Lights Reversed and To Stone She Turned, but I found myself bored at points. Maybe they'll be able to refine it live, supporting Threshold on their European tour this summer.
