Review
The Tarka Groove Experiment is pretty special band. They play retro-rock, but somehow it feels very different from all the other retro-bands that popped up lately. Influences could be The Doors, Reef, James Brown, Ben Harper, Deep Purple... you can't be sure really --Music.com
Tarka Groove Experiment meld a variety of influences into something young, strong and robust with a wide appeal. I recommend you try and get to see them . --Jukebox
I pressed play on my stereo and heard the sweetest sounds of Woodstock era rock! After ejecting the disc to make sure I d not put on a Free or Bad Company disc by mistake, I settled back to take in the impressive rock sounds of The Tarka Groove Experiment. It has to be said, this really is an impressive collection of brilliantly crafted, expertly played, and professionally produced songs. Main track Get on Down features some impressive bluesy vocals and a guitar riff that Ritchie Blackmore would have been proud of. --Sandman

From the Artist
For this, our debut record, we did not want to work within prosaic genre boundaries. I believe an open, uncaged mind is a far more creative tool to work with. Fortunately, due to the fact we're signed to an indie label that understands our musical aspirations, we had full artistic licence to experiment. The result, an album with lyrical depth and thought, an album that does not assilimate the current NME flavour of the week, an album we're proud of.
