Book Description

22 Mar 2011 Harlequin Nocturne (Book 109)
He fell because he loved mankind. It cost him his soul. Now Cooper seeks his halo, his only to chance to regain what he lost. But wherever the Fallen walk, a Sinistari demon is not far behind; their only task is to slay the earthbound angels. Pyxion stalks Cooper. When she kills an angel, she can claim her own soul. His death will be her chance at redemption. Yet Cooper's first encounter with the Sinistari leaves him hungering for more. And Pyx finds herself drawn desperately, sensually towards Cooper. With a vampire trailing both of them, relying on each other could be their best hope of survival - but they cannot give in to their lust or they'll both be doomed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read: interesting plot, sharp dialogue 4 May 2011
By Greeneyelia - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I enjoyed this book, but would strongly recommend reading Angel Slayer, the first part of the series, before you read this. In theory, you should be able to read this book on its own, but to me the whole book made a lot more sense after I read Angel Slayer.

I think Michele Hauf is an excellent world-builder. Cooper and Pyx are likable characters, and their dialogue is sharp and witty. The book has a satisfying ending and I will definitely pick up the third installment of this series (out in August).

The only reason why I didn't give this book a 5-star review, is because it lacked in the physical department. No, there doesn't have to be a steamy scene in every chapter, but in this book it doesn't happen very much at all. It appears in the book that they don't go any further than third base. Pyx is technically a virgin, so for her to give that up should have been a big deal, but her losing a virginity and the emotional turmoil afterwards isn't mentioned in the book.
It doesn't have to be explicit or anything, but sometimes the relationship between Cooper and Pyx felt more than sibling rivalry than actual lovers.

Other than that, it is an excellent and enjoyable read, so it is definitely a 4 star review!
4.0 out of 5 stars Good sequel 10 April 2011

I loved the first book in the trilogy and this wasn't a bad follow up. There was good chemistry between the two main characters and their story was well developed. I just wish that there was more interaction with Eden and Ashur from the first book instead of concentrating on Michael Donovan, who is a recurring character in several of her books. I still look forward to the next book in the series.
5.0 out of 5 stars delightful romantic urban fantasy 25 Mar 2011
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
The fear of what Juphiel is planning has shaken up the hierarchy of the Beneath; as the fallen angel has chosen his female muse to impregnate her. The offspring would be an amoral flesh and blood eating nephilim. To prevent the calamity, Sinistari demon Pyxion the Other has been sent to kill him.

Pyx locates Juphiel in a Paris club, while he is using the human guise of Cooper Truhart, as he searches for his lost halo that contains his soul. Instead of what was reported, Pyx finds a determined Juphiel trying to not fall for the lure of his muse and will never create an evil beast with her. Instead, Cooper plans to have Pyx his way whether that means ripping out her metal heart or winning her metal heart as she is the first female Sinistari he ever heard existed.

The key to this Of Angels and Demons thriller is the Hauf world seems genuine as the Sinistari try to prevent the Fallen from siring Nephilim with their muses. However, it is the lead couple who make the tale fun to read; as fans of Michele Hauf will enjoy the twists and turns of this delightful romantic urban fantasy as forbidden love between eternal enemies leave angels, demons and readers wondering what next.
