Product Description

Product Description

A book and pack of 69 cards for insight and prediction. Every legendary villain has a story ultimately more fascinating than his hero counterpart. These fallen angels are no exception: cast out from heaven, the subversive spirits in this deck have committed at least one of the seven deadly sins to secure their place in the legions of the damned. The cards in Nigel Suckling's oracle are similarly rich with experience, and devilishly direct: Zepar, the angel who makes women love men, reveals the complications of an affair; Gusion, who can discern the past, present and future, calls upon you to let intuition rule; while Shax, who has the appearance of a stork, warns you to protect your wealth. Choose a card for daily insight, or lay them out for a reading, just like tarot...and you will find that your readings have depth and veracity. The accompanying book reveals the card's meaning, and explains the circumstances of each angel's history and wisdom teaching. The illustrations, by artist Sarah Perkins, have been specially commissioned to evoke the dark charm of these most fascinating, mysterious creatures, all of whom offer a special message for you.

This is a fantastic deck. It looks good, the cards are thick and strong, and it smells good too lol. The book is very clear with a good number of spreads explained. Mine arrived yesterday morning and I read through the book - it explains a lot in a few pages - and did my first 2 one card readings and they were spot on! Incredibly accurate, gave me goosebumps, Im looking forward to doing more readings with these ones and will use them often and as a collector of oracle and tarot decks with too many decks tried already that is saying something. I recommend them to anyone who appreciates the wisdom of the fallen angels for the wise elders that they are.

I was very interested in these cards as they sounded so unusual, and, having a deep interest in the fallen angels/ watchers they seemed right up my street. The box is sturdy and the book is well produced with coloured illustrations, but the cards are quite thin and flimsy.

The actual images themselves are photo collages of statues/animals and tombs. Although some of the cards are very beautiful - they don't, on the whole have any real correlation with the fallen angel that they are trying to express. Consequently I was a little disappointed that I felt no connection with them. Another problem was the limited amount of images - several cards contain the same statue photoshopped in a different way and it felt a bit as if the creator had run out of images to use. I also recognised the statues in a few of them - the winged lion of Venice and one of the Horses of st Mark's square - which was a bit offputting when doing a reading.

Look into the darkness 21 April 2011

These cards are eerily dark and oddly enticing. Would suite experienced cards readers rather than beginners. They make an interesting and valid addition to a collection but may need more time to master than many of the simpler and 'brighter'oracle cards on the market. Overall an experience that many avid card readers would find fascinating, if not a little darker than expected.
