Product Description

Review

Praise for the Roth Trilogy:

‘Finely crafted…Taylor has established a sound reputation for writing tense novels that perceptively penetrate the human psyche.’ The Times

‘Marvellous and devilishly clever.’ Mail on Sunday

‘Exciting, readable and thoroughly amoral.’ Daily Telegraph

‘The author knows precisely how to wield suspense.’ Independent on Sunday

‘A major thriller talent.’ Time Out

‘Skilful, elegant, powerfully atmospheric, in which ancient evil shimmers like images trapped in a corridor of mirrors.’ Literary Review

‘It deals in the quietest, most civilized way with abominable suffering… a highly sinister piece of work.’ Times Literary Supplement

‘Complex, with lots of sinister implications… moves the traditional crime novel on to some deeper level of exploration.’ Independent

‘A highly praised trilogy of novels…they inform not only the heart but the brain since Taylor is a writer blessed with great compassion as well as an unerring eye for historical detail. His flawed heroes and heroines and narrators are people you have met before in the street. Their dilemmas are murderously mundane, but the scale of their tragedies devastating.’ Frances Fyfield, Sunday Express

'A fascinating unravelling of the horrors that the past can visit on the present.' Val McDermid

Fascinating 8 Mar 2007
Format:Paperback
This trilogy is as good as fiction gets. The new ITV drama 'Fallen Angel' is adapted from these novels, which begins on Sunday 11th March. It's a dark and compelling story, which has the intellectual background to really make it standout. The stories work backwards, each revealing more about the making of the murderer, which together with the atmospheric social and historical elements proves to be fascinating. The trilogy was originally published under the title 'Requiem for an Angel', so if you want to read more reviews then search for that on Amazon. Enjoy!

Not one like it! 28 Mar 2007
Format:Paperback
This book is completely and utterly fantastic! The way it is original with 'whydunnit' instead of the normal 'whodunnit'. The 3 parts to the book are all good, especially the judgment of strangers, this one reveals the most to me and kept me reading on more than the other two parts. I was reading it while it was on ITV 1, i thought it would have spoiled the book but it really didn't.
