More About the Author

I was born in Scotland in 1968 and moved to London, England when I was about 20. I love writing horror and especially the baddest boys of the lot- zombies. More recently I've been trying my had at supernatural thrillers.

Been with my partner Pam for 25 years, but only recently married, and now that the kids are gone its just us and our two mad dogs. I work in the railway industry as a manager to engineers who maintain and repair commuter trains.

Just finished reading this debut crime novel, I was kept gripped to the story right up until the last page, and the characters really come to life before your eyes. I hope this isn't the last we hear of Inspector Maggie McGuire, She has the making of a great crime series lead investigator.
Looking forward to seeing what more McCuaig can throw our way

good supernatural thriller... 26 Mar. 2014
By Garyw - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
As with some of my favourite fantasy stories, belief needs to be suspended before reading too much of this story. Having said that, the fun action in this story makes it worthwhile to not think too hard about why a Police Inspector who no longer has faith in God would suddenly start running around with a 'soldier' priest assisting him to commit crime after crime, to rid the world of a new evil that threatens to upturn everything. I made myself comfortable with this very quickly, by noting that these are extraordinary times - calling for extraordinary measures. The things the Police Inspector sees would have convinced her very quickly that there was something supernatural occurring. Once I had let this go, I could then get on with simply enjoying the action in this fantasy. And enjoy it I did... very much.

Well worth the read. And if the author writes a sequel, with the priest and the Maggie the Police Inspector finalising their clean up in other parts of the world, I will keenly chase that down as well, for another exciting read!

What an exciting supernatural thriller! 20 Feb. 2013

In some ways it reminded me of Dan Brown’s Angels & Demons in the tight way the storyline was written and the compelling nature of the mystery as it played out. I was sucked into the story from page one, and I could not put it down. Maggie is a very believably drawn, and I found myself very drawn to her in every scene. There were twists and turns I didn’t expect, and I have the feeling that this is not the end of her story. The ending leaves it very much open to a sequel, which I am certain I will want to read. I give Fallen Angel 5 stars!
