From the Author

Excerpted from an interview with Cyrus Webb for Coversations Magazine.

Cyrus Webb (CW): Many people have mixed emotions when they hear the term erotic or erotica. How would you best describe what you write and what led you down that path?

Eden Baylee (EB): Erotica is a genre that touches all my senses, so I enjoy spinning words onto a page to enable readers to feel the same. I love being turned on as it makes me feel alive, and who wouldn't want to feel that? The mixed emotion surrounding the genre may come from a misunderstanding of what it is. Erotica is not just about pounding sexual images into the reader's mind. There has to be connection to a story, and the sex needs to be relevant. To make it an enticing read, you must ask: Who are these people? Why are they having sex? Why are they having this type of sex? If you get no answers, then why would you want to read farther? Erotica is strongly built on character-driven plots, and this is central to ensuring the reader cares about the sex. Reading a book with page after page of sex would be like watching a 2-hour movie that is one long car chase. It might be exciting for a bit, but it'll get boring very quickly.

CW: Can you tell our readers what is next for you?

EB: I'm working on my second anthology of erotica entitled Spring into Summer. As with Fall into Winter, it will contain four novellas--two that take place in the spring and two in the summer. After that, I will change course and write full-length novels. They will have erotic elements, but will be thriller/suspense stories à la John Fowles, one of my favorite authors.

CW: What advice do you give for aspiring writers or those looking to break into the industry?

EB: My mantra to myself: Keep writing. Be persistent. Believe in yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars You're in for an erotic treat! 19 Sept. 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
First of all, I confess that I am not an expert with the genre of Erotica and have not read a great deal in my long reading life. My second confession for today is that I've fallen in love with Eden Baylee's Fall Into Winter, completely!

On finishing reading these expertly woven stories following four very different women and their erotic adventures, the characters stayed with me, and I felt as if I've been there myself, seeking pleasure and enjoying the romantic journey they have embarked on. The writing is beautiful, the locations exotic and the details fascinating. I shall not tell you any more to spoil the fun for you, except to add that I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Go on and get yourself a treat today - you and that special someone in your life would be delighted :).

I love Eden's books, they are real romances with descriptive sex, nothing wrong with that, I love the honesty. Writers should never shy from reality and that is what her books are about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended 3 April 2011
By Nicole Williams - Published on
I've read this book twice and each time I fell in love with the characters, storyline and the voice of the book. Each story is steamy and hot with characters you could relate to. There are rare books out there that fall into the erotica genre. Most end up being cheesy with laughable words. But Eden Baylee's voice for the characters are modern and sexy. You won't regret picking this wonderful book up and getting cozy and reading this from cover to cover. Its magnificent piece of erotica. Its a modern tale full of sexy words and steamy scenes. This is a book that you can read over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elegantly Written Erotic Fantasies 17 Mar. 2011
By J. Alexander Greenwood - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
In my experience, finding erotica with engaging characters and strong plots is unusual, and it's downright rare to find a collection of erotica with those qualities that is as elegantly written as "Fall Into Winter." These stories feature strong, self-possessed women who know what they want sexually and aren't afraid to get it. Each of the four novellas in this collection take you to the edge of fantasy but not so far out that they lose plausibility; if you like erotica that takes place in the realm of the possible, this book is for you. Sexy, arousing and fun, this elegant, witty collection is an honest, playful exploration of sexuality, seduction and lust. Eden Baylee is exceptional.

4.0 out of 5 stars A perfect erotic pleasure 10 Aug. 2012
By Cameron D. Garriepy - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Eden Baylee's collection, Fall Into Winter, weaves erotic encounters and deep emotional connections into four novellas that satisfy. Racier than a romance, well written and crafted with care, packing every bit of the unabashed emotion and belief in the power of love you could want in a sexy read--without compromising the flat-out erotic sex scenes with flowery or ridiculous language.

Eden writes erotica for the modern, intelligent reader, and I am so very glad she does!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fall Into Winter is a Joyfully Recommended Read 27 Nov. 2011
By M. Nix - Published on
Are you ready for a collection of four super-hot romances that will leave you burning with great desire? Then go pick up your copy of Eden Baylee's Fall into Winter.

"Seduced by the Blues"
When it came to dating younger men, Ella Jamison always had a love `em and leave `em type of attitude. So why did she find it difficult to quickly end things with John Cook - her current boy toy who was twelve years her junior?

John Cook was a man of action. He was not afraid to go after what he wanted, and he wanted Ella Jamison with a burning passion. Will he be able to convince her that age wasn't nothing but a number and that they were perfect for each other?

There is nothing like a determined man. Wow! John had me wishing that I was in Ella's shoes. His seduction skills were charming, resolute and oh, so alpha-like. No wonder Ella was hot for him regardless of their age difference.

"Act Three"
Stella Christy and Norman Desmond had been in a relationship for a little over a year. Each sexual encounter between them was in a Queen/King role play with lots of BDSM action. Always eager to try something new, Stella suggested a ménage a trios between her, Norman and a trusted third guy. Will Norman, a very jealous type of man, be open to Stella's new fantasy idea or has Stella bitten off more than she can chew?

If you are into a little BDSM play with a twister thrown into the mix then, "Act Three" is just the story for you. I must admit that Ms. Baylee had me going for awhile not sure of the outcome with a few petrifying moments. I must say, that I was pleasantly shocked. I don't want to say too much and give away the plot, so you will have to pick up a copy to discover just what I am talking about.

"The Norwegian"
With hopes of overcoming her writer's block, Leah Jones barricaded herself into a remote cabin determined to finish her latest book during the Christmas holiday. What Leah didn't plan on was to instantly fall for a handsome stranger who reminded her of a lost love from her past. Will Leah take a chance on a happily-ever-after future with a handsome Norwegian by the name of Henrik Kristiansen, or will she remain stuck in the past, alone with only memories to keep her warm?

Out of the four tales, "The Norwegian" was the most heartfelt story. I truly admired Leah and how she dealt with the tragic curve ball life had thrown her. She just needed Henrik to open her eyes to a second chance at love. The journey proved to be a difficult one and I wasn't sure if Leah was willing to let go of the past. Nevertheless, Henrik refused to give up on the treasure that he found in Leah. This is one story not to be missed.

"The Austrian and the Asian"
Ten years ago while on vacation in Austria, Elena Lee had an epigrammatic but scorching love affair with Stefan Georges. Despite the fact that she had moved on in life, Elena never forgot what she had shared with Stefan. Because so many years had passed without any form of communication between them, Elena knew that she had lost her one true love--or so she thought. Once again in Austria, Elena was reunited with Stefan. Will she be able to walk away the second time around?

By far, "The Austrian and the Asian" was the longest tale told. Yet, without the detailed length, the plot would have been lost. It was amazing to see how a true passion shared among a couple over ten years ago never really lost its burning desire within. The heat between Elena and Stefan was hot and oh so sweet.

Eden Baylee's debut novel Fall into Winter was simply an incredible read and I am honored to bestow it as a Joyfully Reviewed Recommended Read. While common elements unified all four stories, each one was a unique, standalone tale that I enjoyed reading from start to finish. Ms. Baylee is definitely one author that you will want to check out. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Every Story was a Treat! 9 Aug. 2012
By DianthaJ - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
Eden Baylee, Erotica Extraordinaire, has done it to me again. After reading "Spring Into Summer" I couldn't resist grabbing a copy of "Fall Into Winter". I'm so glad I did.

If "Spring Into Summer" was HOT, "Fall Into Winter" was SCORCHING. Every story was a treat and had great plots, something you just don't find in Erotica nowadays.

"Seduced by the Blues" was just straight up sexy. The older woman, younger man thing is just so hot to me and Baylee made you believe that these two could make it last forever. In more ways than one.

I'm still trying to figure out why "Act Three" was not the last story of the book, as it blew the bulb off of the H.O.T meter. Stella is a FREAK and takes it out on not one, but TWO men. Threesome activity is usually pretty nauseating in most erotica novels, but again, Baylee managed to make me feel there was some sort of passion involved and it wasn't all about the "freak".

"The Norwegian" was romantic and sweet (Even though Baylee claims she doesn't write romance!) Blah! This was a very passionate story that was written more around the emotional turmoil of the characters (with just a little "freak" on the side).

"The Austrian and the Asian" was my favorite of the book. It was everything: Sweet, sexy, sad, and sensual. The plot was very good and I couldn't have hoped for a better ending. BEWARE: The Asian will remind you of someone you may or may not know. =)

Overall, loved this book. If you love Erotica, Eden Baylee is one of the best at it. Check out "Spring Into Summer" if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed.
