4.0 out of 5 stars Good mixture of black humour and gory murders 12 Mar 2013
Near-death experiences lie around every corner for Stan Arkle when he revisits the town of his youth. With the police failing to believe him, and inept at catching the person trying to murder him, Stan decides to take matters into his own hands, to try and find out who is behind the spate of killings which are appearing in the town. Fall Guy is a gripping, light-hearted thriller which mixes black humour with gory murder scenes. Well worth a read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good old fashioned seaside mystery 31 Mar 2013

I really enjoyed the scrapes that Stanley was involved in. There is a good amount of humour as he stumbles from one adventure to the next. Good characterization and a surprising plot twist.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, quirky crime novella 11 Mar 2013
Fall Guy follows Stan Arkle as he returns to his sleepy childhood town to attend the funeral of one of his friends. Things start to heat up almost immediately when he is nearly mowed down by an aggressive driver and as the plot thickens, numerous attempts are made to end his life. As the mystery unravels, Stan delves further into the mysterious crimes which plagued the town during his youth and a chilling connection between the town's earlier murders and the contemporary ones becomes clear.

As well as having plenty of fast-paced action and a tongue-in-cheek storyline which doesn't take itself too seriously, this crime novella has a fantastic range of eccentric English side-characters, including bumbling policemen, eccentric aristocrats and talkative pub-regulars. Good, fun read.
