Format:Audio CD
Saw this Swedish trio perform live in Oxford last October and, on the strength of that fabulous performance, bought this album. Their music combines folk, acoustic, blues, rock, country and rockabilly to amazing effect and there is not one duff song on the album. Its raw energy is infectious and it is not possible to listen to this album without a smile on your face or keeping your feet still. This album has a great feel to it and is one to put a spring in your step.

Baskery are three Swedish sisters whose album combines a mix of bluegrass, country, rock and folk. Songs such as One Horse Down and Out of Towner are stomping tracks that could easily come from a bar in America with sawdust on the floor and and old man on the banjo. If you like music that makes your feet tap and brings a smile to your face then this is certainly worth a listen.

You know that smug feeling you get when you have happened upon something that's awesome, but few others would seem to have cottoned on to yet?? Well if you decide to buy this album, you'll get that feeling! This is original, different, varied, fun, profound, and is an album that, in time, will be become an absolute classic! The only thing it lacks ( and i'm not quite sure why ) ..is the media hype that attatches itself to such a lot of mediocre mainstream music these days. Quite how this band stay under the radar is beyond me, ...listen to the record!!
The quality of the musianship is exceptional, the composition of the songs is up there with the all time classics, and Baskery are an energetic stage act not to be missed! I saw them by accident when they supported Seth Lakeman at Exeter, and immediately rushed down to the entrance hall at the interval to buy the c.d., and was not dissapointed! I would list my fave tracks, but like i said, it's all fantastic, in the same way that say ..."Rumours" by Fleetwood Mac is all good.
