The Perfect Man…For Her?

Who is the perfect man? Ad executive Melissa Brock might not know the answer, but she does know it’s not Sam Curtis. But with time running out and no flawless male specimen in sight, Mel has no choice but to try and pass off the former soldier as the real thing for her next campaign. Her business partner claims Mel only needs to “smooth out Sam’s rough edges,” a comment that has her reaching for a sand blaster. Confident, irrepressible, and sexy as hell, Sam has an unerring talent for finding trouble and more appeal than any man has a right to possess. Against her better judgment, she finds herself falling under his spell. But Mel has to wonder: is she falling for her own Mr. Right, or under the hype of her own campaign?

If you want to switch off this is the perfect story. It has great "chick flick " potential, and ticks all the boxes for an easy to follow love story. Does exactly what it says on the tin!

4.0 out of 5 stars Original story. Good dialog. 23 Jun 2012
By Karen G. Harrill - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Typos were my only negative complaint. Some words did not change into the format cleanly and so the reader got to play guessing games with the intent. (Ex. that 'was' must have been a 'what' for the sentence to make any sense at all.)

Otherwise, wonderful characters placed in believable situations, with witty or snarky or delightful things to say. Laughing out loud does occur. Reader should be warned to not drink soda or milk while reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is what romantic comedies are made of 24 Jun 2012

It was a case of mistaken identity. Mel Brock thought that the gorgeous looking man in the foyer was a model. It turned out he was not; in fact, Sam Curtis was the childhood friend of Mel's business partner, Jeff.

But, mistaken identity be dammed, it did not stop Jeff and Mel from hiring Sam to headline a nationl advertising campaign they were launching.

But Mel found Sam irristible, just like the thousands of women, who were their target market. Describing Sam in her own words, Mel said, "He is ... gift to American women. But, if he is, then why does Mel feel jealous when Sam was doing his job of flirting with the women he was supposed to in the first place.

Laugh out loud funny, "Faking Mr. Right" is a true contemporary romance touching on the effect of Madison Avenue on pop culture, the paparazzi's place in the news media and how personalities can use the same media to right a wrong.

Kerry Connor has her finger on the pulse on the current zeitgeist as she created these funny and remarkable characters. You will love Mel and Sam, plus the plethora of supporting characters that were all fleshed out nicely to be three-dimensional.

Oh, there were a few typographical errors but they were not enough for me to take out one star, hence I'm giving this book a 5-star rating. Also, this is PG 15 (not 13) because of some sexual content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faking Mr. Right 27 Jun 2012

The best part of Faking Mr. Right was the character dialogue; it was witty and gave depth to the story. The sub-plot of Tommy and Rosie added to the story. You need to read this full-length book to find out the complete story of Mr. Right and Mel (Ms. Right).
