Imagine a video arcade machine with artificial intelligence comes to life and discovers drugs, music and tv all in the space of 5 minutes... this is would be its favourite album. This is Pong speeding. Video-arcade-casiotone-hip-hop-rock-pop is what someone who doesn't know much about music, but knows what they like would call it. If you like the Avalanches, you might like this - if you liked Sonic the Hedgehog a few years back and grew up in the 80s, you might like this - if you like Kylie, you won't. Buy it, try it and if you don't like it, send it to me. I love it!

God never intended for man to flawlessly combine tech rap, waltz-time punk and neo-acoustic into two minute pop nuggets but plus-tech squeeze box defy the lord time and time again. This is the ultimate "happy" music guranteed to cheer you up no matter what mood you are in. They manager to filter, process, slash and steal all the magic out of every possible genre and put them in perfect harmony. A first class record

5.0 out of 5 stars eclectic fresh sounding band from Japan 26 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
To agree with everyone else, this can't be pinned down to a genre, for those like me that like slightly strange records and enjoy the art of good sampling this is for you, I think the whole Japanese-English thing works well, as she has a really nice voice and carries it off. 1 criticism a little short at only 32 minutes long, but well worth buying. This band are going places.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfection...... 20 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
-It Isn't the greatest album of all time, and it's certainly not my favriote, but if I had to pick one album that was absolutely *perfect* in every way, shape or form, this would have to be it. Condensing every style of music ever listened to in the last century into an incredably cute, half hour package, 'fakevox' lucrhes from ambient keyboards to acoustic guitars to bursts of feedback, irrelelevent samples and literaly *anything* else you can think of off the top of your head, often in the same song. Its pop for people who hate pop, it's glitch-core for people who haven't heard of glitch-core, it's half an hour of irrepresibly happy music. I'm sorry for gushing, I can only recomend you buy three copies today, as well as ordering them as presents for everyone you know.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kooky Japanese lounge rock 9 Jan 2002
Format:Audio CD
Fakevox combines a wide variety of genres, and does it surprisingly well. Lounge, rock, electronica, happy pop, anime-style music, the odd bit of cool jazz and strange samples have all been blended together into a very attractive little package. Definitely one to get, if you can get over the rather strange Japanese-English lyrics.
