A very smart colleague of mine built his own floodlight to simulate daylight in his painting room. I think it is useful for me to have one for sketching. His DIY light is assembled with a street lamp bracket, a large tripod, a joint piece he made by him self to connect these two and it uses gas discharge bulb. But I found this one on Amazon and the price of this whole kit is even lower than a single gas discharge bulb.
So far I am very happy with it. The body of the tripod is made of metal looks pretty durable. The light head is made of plastic and can be fixd on top or underneath the horizontal bar like an other review mentioned. Brightness is adequate, I make the light head face the ceiling so the beam is bonuced back to cast a shadowless even soft warm effect, every corner of my 5m X 5m room is lit just as in the day. It also came with two little handles which are not shown in the product image but a very smart design. When on, the light head is very hot and these handles can be fixed to the horizontal bar from either bottom or top, depending on where you fix the light head in relation to the horizontal bar, so that there is some thing to grab on if the angle of the heads needs to be adjusted.
Here comes the small problems. The screw holes on these handles are smaller than the screws came with it, the same screw joins the light head to the frame, so I have to make them slight bigger to function. Another problem, maybe not a problem as it also says suitable for outdoor use in the description, is that it doesn't have a switch, it's turned on and off by the switch on power source or just pulling the plug.
This is a good product at excellent price.
