Am working in woodland at the moment and am finding this Mattock an essential tool for removing tree stumps and roots. Could not do without it. Once sharpened with an angle grinder it stays really sharp for quite some time. Just as good as a pick-axe on rock hard ground! Far more useful than a garden hoe.

A good product, I found it 1st class for removing some long established tree and shrub roots. (Don't forget to order a shaft with the tool)

I've not broken it yet, but then I've not really 'wellied' it. Sharp enough to cut roots and grub them out. Great for preparing trenches and working compacted soil to make it a lot easier to shovel out.
