This book is a first of its kind from a British author and a UK publisher. It is simply brilliant as Christian primer for philosophy. I say a primer because it is certainly suitable for anyone wanting to explore the subject for the first time but I also intend to recommend it for BA and MA programmes as well because it is so comprehensive yet concise, crystal clear and with enough recommended further resources - books, papers, web-links etc to fuel a lifetime of study. In a word - brilliant!

This is an excellent guide to philosophy from the point of Christianity. Williams knows the literature and gives good
examples of different viewpoints. He is always clear and can summarize difficult philosophical questions very well. Perhaps the major theme of the book is a well-reasoned critique of materialism. Materialists often sit on two chairs when they discuss basic philosophical problems. They are materialists at laboratories but believe free will at home. I recommend this book strongly.

A profound work, but very helpful and challenging. Heard the writer recently at a meeting. Highly capable. I would highly recommend the work.
