A Leap of Faith is a m/m shifter story, with an interesting take on the old legend of shifters being tied to the moon.
Alexander Brighton (Xander) and his brothers, are a group of shifters, cursed and given up by their own families, because of the simple fact that they're all white animals. Their species vary, but the color remains the same. The white is a beacon, a telling sign that they are the cursed of their generation; for only white shifters are compelled beyond their control to shift every full moon. They don't make many friends, they have a vast array of enemies and anyone who is unlucky enough to be in their presence when they change into their beast form goes mad. Some simply stop functioning normally and begin to slobber on themselves, while others go really mad, we're talking the stark-raving Jeffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson kind of crazy.
Braxton Carmichael is an author and orphan, who has a ex-boyfriend with a violent disposition who has been after Braxton since their break up months ago. One simple altercation between Braxton and said ex lands him right smack dab in the path of Xander Brighton. There is an instant attraction between the two men and Xander knows as soon as he smells Braxton, that he's his mate, but Braxton's psycho ex-boyfriend is still after him and finding out the gorgeous guy you just met turns into a white tiger and you're his chosen love, can be a bit much for anyone to handle.
Then, there is Braxton's best friend, Keeton, who answers his door in a section of this book, in nothing, but "a white t-shirt and Scooby-Doo bikini briefs" and who has settled himself very nicely into a slot on my very favorite characters list.
This was an excellent read and I loved every minute of it.
