5.0 out of 5 stars A fun take on your classic fairytales 20 July 2006
By ELH Browning VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
This is great book which interlinks three classic stories, Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the three Bears and Red Riding Hood, against a background of other fairytales and nursery rhymes and a copy of the Fairytale Newspaper at the back of the book adds an extra dimension.. The pictures are fun, and my children enjoy the map page where they can spot the houses where the three pigs and Cinderella live for example. The picture of the wolf running through the wood in Granny's nightclothes is always good for a giggle and look out for the peeking roving reporter who is collecting news items for the Fairytale Newspaper. Both my son 4 and daughter 5 choose this from the shelf - I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fairytale News! What a great read! 29 Mar 2005
Format:Hardcover
I wasn't expecting my own copy of 'Fairytale News' at the end of the book (what a fantastic surprise!). The book and the newspaper are both very funny, clever and brilliant! My whole family loved it and if you like fairy tales I dare you not to...

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic! 31 July 2008

I love this book! It cleverly includes many well known stories. The illustrations are lovely and add more to the story. The newspaper at the back is very funny. My 3-5 yr olds love this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fairy tale mews book 23 Oct 2011
By Lisa
Format:Hardcover
Love fairy tale news but I am I teacher and the main reason I ordered it was for the newspaper at the back, to use for lessons on newspaper reports. Unfortunately, it wasn't there. I think I bought it 'used' , still expected to get the paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wicked Book! 17 Mar 2004
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I bought this book for my niece's seventh birthday and she loved it. We giggled together as we followed Jack Hubbard (son of Mother Hubbard) as he delivered the Fairytale News to the homes of various fairytale characters. The surprise of having a real copy of the newspaper tucked into the back pocket of the Giant delighted my niece and she read and reread all the news especially about her favourite character BB Wolf. As she said it is a 'wicked book'! Excellent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wish I had more details about the book 21 Nov 2011
By Nancy J - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I knew the book was used and was in "OK" shape but I was bummed when we received it because a part of the book (a removable newspaper) was missing. It was also in paperback and I was expecting it to be hardcover. I guess I should recommend that the buyer be diligent in making sure they know what they are buying- especially when it is used.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantaspamistical Book! 20 Aug 2007
By Christa Dandoy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I read this book to my K-2 students. They all loved it. I think the part they liked the most was the newspaper that came with it. This is a great way to get the kids excited about the newspaper and to learn about the different sections it offers. I was very impressed with this book's language and illustrations.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great book 24 Sep 2013

My grandson loves these books. He made me read the Pirate book over and over and still looks at it at 10 years old. His favorite part was the map to follow along with the story. Now in this book he has the news paper in the back to look at. What a great thing to add to the books. He wanted this book to keep with his other one. Kids love it!
