5.0 out of 5 stars Tower of Heaven & Fighting Festival 27 Sep 2012
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
The fourth volume of twelve episodes from the 'Fairy Tail' anime continues the entertaining series with some very nice moments and a couple of great arcs.

The first four and a half episodes of this collection see the conclusion of the Tower of Heaven arc with Erza and her friends are in a race against time to defeat the assassins of Trinity Raven as well as Erza's former friend Jellal before the Magic Council unleash the power of the Etherion to destroy the Tower and everything around it. While the episodes that finish this arc do have some very nice action in them, for some reason I feel some of them aren't quite as good as the original manga versions (although the battle between Erza and Ikuruga of Trinity Raven is still good and is probably my favourite from the arc). As well as this, there are some nicely funny moments in this arc, some come off as rather silly and unnecessary. The plot of the arc does have some twists to it and while many of these are somewhat obvious, they are still nicely done and the arc remains entertaining to watch. The episodes here also have some genuinely touching moments to them as well as Erza deals with her past and her former friends.

The final seven and a half episodes of this collection detail the entirety of the Fighting Festival arc. When Lucy, Natsu and the others return to Magnolia they discover that the rebuilding of the guildhall has been completed and there are some new members for the guild as well. With Magnolia preparing for the annual Harvest Festival, everybody in the guild is excited but things soon turn nasty when Makarov's grandson Laxus crashes the party and sets into motion a battle that could tear the guild apart. This is a very entertaining arc and does include some very nice battles throughout.

5.0 out of 5 stars Season 1 reaches its conclusion 17 July 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This is the final part of the first Season. Firstly, this Part concludes the Tower of Heaven Arc where Erza confronts Jellal, who is then joined by Natsu and Simon, leading to Natsu awaking his full Dragon Slayer powers. After the mess, the gang returns back to the NEW guild hall, where Juvia is introduced as a member of the guild, along with another, former Phantom member, who is the last person you'd expect. Finally, while the guild makes itself ready for the Magnolia Harvest festival, Laxus stirs up trouble which I wont go into detail so i don't spoil the story.
This is the final part of Season 1, and this is easily one of my favourite TV series of all time. I literally cant wait for Part 5 to Come to the UK
