The battle against Grimoire Heart continues apace and sees Fairy Tail begin their fight back against the powerful Seven Kin of Purgatory. The goat like Caprico reveals his magical abilities forcing Lucy, Cana and Grey to retreat while Loke/Leo faces him alone. Natsu confronts Ultear, leader of the Seven Kin, while Erza and Juvia fight the powerful and obsessive Merudy. Meanwhile Cana's obsession with completing the exam at all costs puts Lucy in danger as she faces off against the weird Kain. As the battle rages, the Magic Council must decide what to do about so many of its enemies in one place, a situation that could result in the unleashing of the Council's ultimate weapon.

This twenty-seventh volume of the 'Fairy Tail' is another very entertaining one with some great battles, as well as the usual humour. The fight between Loke/Leo and Caprico is a good one that shows us some interesting backstory for Caprico himself as well as the truth about who he really is. The fight between Lucy and Kain has a lot of nice humour in it and is the reason that Kain is probably my second favourite of the Seven Kin. The fight shows off Kain's interesting magical abilities and the resolution of the fight is certainly interesting. Erza and Juvia's fight against Merudy (my personal favourite of the Seven Kin) is also entertaining, doing a good job of showing just how powerful Juvia can be when pushed.

This volume also has quite a few bonus pages with a bestiary of the animals native to Sirius Island, Spot the Difference, a 'Fairy Tail Monthly Scheduler', a map of Fiore and some notes on character names joining the usual afterword, translation notes and Lucy & Mirajane's Q&A.
