3.0 out of 5 stars Good book, especially for kids 18 Sep 2006
This book is a nice book but I do agree with the above review that it is nothing special. The best thing in the book is the recipe for white chocolate fudge icing, which is delicious and I use all of the time. All the actual recipes produce nice results. The decorative ideas are ok. It would be a nice book to give to a child as a present, or for someone with children. But as far as books about fairy cakes go, there are better ones out there.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but nothing really special 14 Feb 2006
By A Customer
This is a good little book in that it has ideas for using a basic mix to achieve various results. It also has some nice decorative ideas - but nothing really special or even very creative. I cant say I found it inspirational at all. I would probably recommend it for teenage or young cooks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Book 18 Sep 2005
By A Customer
This is a lovely little book with some gorgeous ideas all based on the humble little cupcake. Instructions are really easy to follow and allow plenty of room for your own creativity. This book would be good for children right through to those of us who haven't grown up yet! I would have liked a few more pictures of some of the cakes but those which are, look lovely. This is also perfect for Food Tech teachers as it shows product development really well - take one basic item and change etc... A very good little book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute book 21 Oct 2008

This is a sweet little book, suitable for beginners. It starts with good, basic recipes, which the author expands on. The reader will learn to bake and ice cakes, use ready-to-roll icing, and make frosted flowers. Perhaps the recipes are not as ambitious as some of those you'll find in other specialty 'cupcake' books but they're fun to make and it's good value for under a fiver.
