Product Description

Book Description

John Maxwell helps readers change their attitudes and beliefs about failure, so they can make positive changes in their lives and achieve their full potential.

The major difference between achieving people and average people is their perception of and response to failure. Maxwell takes a closer look at failure and reveals that the secret of moving beyond failure is to use it as a lesson and a stepping-stone. He covers the top reasons people fail and shows how to master fear instead of being mastered by it. Readers will discover that positive benefits can accompany negative experiences - if you have the right attitude. Full of action suggestions and real-life stories, 'Failing Forward' is a strategic guide that will help men and women move beyond mistakes to fulfil their potential and achieve success.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ever judge yourself on your failures not successes?, 8 Oct 2000
This review is from: Failing Forward (Paperback)
John Maxwell once again writes as the reader wants to read. Failing Forward is the perfect book for anyone looking to achieve in their life time. Maxwell, in his first three chapters, will have you hooked as he get you, the reader, to realise that initial failure is the natural process in any successful result. Far to often individuals, groups or teams are cast onto the scrap heap because of failing first time. We must learn Maxwell's teaching if we are to understand ourselves more. This book will be a best seller! It will replace the infamous Magic of Thinging Big as a must read of anyone wanting to practice PMA. Enjoy the read, enjoy the failing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for an attitude adjustment, 18 Sep 2011
This review is from: Failing Forward (Paperback)
I'm really enjoying FF - I read a few chapters a week to savour it as the ideas it puts forward need a bit of attention. Maxwell makes excellent points about how perception of failure works against us and puts up solid arguments for rethinking your attitude to failure, to adjust your understanding of how success is attained. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good perspective on life, 4 Aug 2007
By M. Mansour "read up" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Failing Forward (Paperback)
This book gives specific stories about people and how they bounced back from failure. It definately can help put your own trials into perspective. But it also gives practical advice on how to proceed from your failures. If we dont really learn how to learn from our failures, then we are setting ourselves up for more failures. This book will help clear up alot of mis conceptions regarding failure and success.

4.0 out of 5 stars Typical Maxwell, 30 Sep 2008
By Clint Walker "Friar Tuck" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Failing Forward (Paperback)
If you like John Maxwell, you will love this book. He is constantly positive and always practical. Lots of good quotes littered throughout the book. An encouragement of a book, that lets you feel like you can overcome when you feel like you have messed everything else.

As is typical of Maxwell, it is a little concrete-sequential. Filled with outline points and steps for success and the like.
